Ok, heres the deal, had about enough with the fit on my supersprint exhaust so thinking of replacing. Problem i have is that i use the car every day so was wondering if anyone knew of a powerflow dealer in or near Newquay as im going on hols there next week so figured i could leave the car and go surfing! :D

So anyone know of a place or have any comments about powerflows?

OK, appreciated. Will look into other altenatives. Probably get another Miltek as that was pretty good. Just liked the idea of having a custom tailpipe. Tarty huh? lol.

Vibrio,

Do you drive a GT? if so nice cars, had one before my 'beefa.

Had a Powerflow cat back system made for my last car (Audi 80 Sport - 100% drivers car and I miss it ! ).

Had no problems with the actual quality of material used, but IMO it all depends on the fitters welding skill and workmanship.

Originally made by a Powerflow dealer in Bridport, after getting fed up with leaks and knocking on the rear axle, had it all sorted out by a dealer in Bournemouth (free of course) - no probs for 2 years.

You do get a lifetime gaurantee with them, and you can choose the look and the sound which is cool.

Had a custom cat replacement made by a company called Maniflow in Salisbury - superb workmanship. There are loads of custom exhaust makers around - just try and find one with a good rep.

I'd go with the previous comment - only as good as the fitters. the monkeys that did mine in exeter must have done mine bindfolded. Knocks on the rear axle and melts through rubbers like there's no tomorrow - the sound varies depending on temprature, fine and nice when cold - boomy as hell when hot!

there are a few custom fitters, such as top gear - that I've heard good things about. Revs has a feature on custom exhausts this month.

Longlife Exhausts (http://www.exhaust.uk.com) fitted mine. I'm experiencing the sound level trend that Scott's getting, but I don't think mine's as mad. When it's real hot, it'd louder, but surely that's down to expanding metal and the cat being effective, i.e. when it's hot and working, it's letting gases through a little better, and therefore a little louder. I think it purrs nicely!

Anyway, longlife were apparently set up by the same people as Powerflow. Again, lifetime guarantee as the name suggests, and a choice of tailpipes and exhaust diameters. They can also make you cat replacement pipes (but you know what you could be getting yourself into).

Already had a cat replacement and was more trouble than it was worth :( Thought it was gonna be a cheap replacement for a blown cat and it was till MOT time. Just fancied a nice unique exhaust and these guys seemed a good idea. Now im just confussed! :(

As ScottyP says their main dealer in Exeter is.....er....not so good.
They are, I think the importers of the stuff as well as being the importers of BK racing alloy wheels and used to be tied in with Jamex suspension.
Worst of all that's probably one of the nearest depots to Newquay but over an hour away - as you said look elsewere (allegedly)

I am considering a powerflow system as well on the basis on not being able to find a tailpipe design to my likeing or price, was gona go for a supersprint but seeing BBsparkys one put me right off

quality is dependant on who you got to, some are better than others. the one in St Albans herfordshire is quite reputable I hear.

My mate went to Top Gear in St Albans just cos of they reputation, and it was well worth it.

They dont a really good job on his CRX.
