Ok I recently bought my Ibiza Mk3 about 4 weeks ago. It came with the usual setup of Casette player and Radio. It also has the CD Changer facility on it. Now not knowing anythign at all about how to fit it or get one fitted up i wondered what the best thing to do is. I was thinking of getting a CD Changer but can't afford to go above £200.

The guy when i bought it said it was already to connect a CD Changer, but i wouldn't have a clue where to start...any help would be fantastic!!

there should be a cd lead in your boot to connect upto a SEAT/VAG cd 6 disc changer. Open ya boot, and look on the left hand side behind the carpet (up against the left-rear suspension area). To be honest your best off sticking to a origanl equipement CD changer as thats a direct fitment.

Theres a few avenues to look down when gettin a cd changer put in.

Firstly, ring round a few dealers part desks and see what they will offer u a standard one with brackets for.

Secondly have a look on the net;

www.cel-direct.com
www.caraudiodirect.com

http://www.cel-direct.com/detail3.asp?ProductID=2065&PartNumber=DP9061 + IT SEA02PAN

http://www.cel-direct.com/detail3.asp?ProductID=2060&PartNumber=T67 + MES ASTS001

Found these that should* work straight off, give the sales people a ring and they will better advise you

I got a panasonic one. Its 8 disc, but you just dont use the last two discs. It cost £160 inc converter lead. you just have to find some way of holding it down due to the fact that it doesnt line up to the factory holes. bet you could get it cheaper, it was £110 for changer and £50 for lead, but think lead could have been cheaper. Try ringing all the ads in back of max power/revs/fast car.

Hi Peachykins!

Heres what I did and it will cost you just over £200......

Go to Halfords and buy a 'Connect 2' converter for a Seat Ibiza. This will connect to the plug that you will find under your carpet on the left hand side of your boot. Buy a Sony T69 six disc changer and plug it into the other side of the 'Connects 2' converter. You will know be able to play all your cds and control them all via the controls in the centre unit of your dash.

The 'Connect 2' converter cost £49.99
A T69 will cost about £165 - £180.

Laters!

Just to let you know, don't bother looking at the dealerships for a SEAT CD changer, they quoted me £350 for a 6 disk to go in the glove box of my Leon!!!!!

So what i did was spend £450 on a new Sony MP3 head unit with folding down fiasca and roll out CD tray.

Hi Peachykins

Dont think you'll find the connector anywhere any cheaper. I did quite a bit of looking around and their minimum £50.

Had to be done though, I dont have any tapes and the radio does my head in!

Wish you could just do that in the ibiza! I've been looking for a easy way to fit a standard head unit in for ages now!
