Hi,
My shiney pipes have black around the edges and im finding it a mare to get it back to shiny clean again. Its the twin pipe on an FR and i have tried meguiars metal polish and then auto glym paint renovator, then i tired wire wool to try and pull it back to the metal. I have got rid of alot of the black but its still rough. Is the next step sandpaper??? as i havent a clue what to try.
The actual pipe itself is fine its the end tips on the lower area that are bad, is wet and dry the only way to sort it?
Try some stuff I got from asda that someone else here told us about-Barkeepers friend its called should do the trick for a couple of quid...

Barkeepers friend is that beer? lol, what is it?
Its a chrome/silverware powder, spread a wee bit on a damp cloth, rub in and rinse off-worked really well for me...
or .. try one of those Foam Oven Cleaners .. did my alloys AND my exhaust tips last week end.. works really well.:)

Alloy wheel cleaner works but needs rubbing in and aggitating with a toothbrush. It got mine clean and mine were bad bad... Then bring up to a nice shine wit some proper metal polish, meguirs is awesome i am told
try autosol or peakpaste, you will get both from Halfords

I use autosol on mine, the key is not to let it build back up, first polish is a biatch tbh.
or just use auto glym super resin polish brought mine back to new

Duraglit
i use meguairs metal polysh - works wonders on my supersprint exhaust - but as said above if you let it build up it will take ages the first time.

** WONDERWHEELS **
This is stuff is brillaint for removing soot/black carbon deposits on the car - its quite ironic that I wont let Wonder Wheels within an inch of any decent set of alloys. :D
