I want to order a set of springs today but still not sure which ones to go for. I want a 35/40mm drop whilst substaining some comfort in the drive. My choices.
1. PI springs, will lower up to 40mm but reports suggest it could go lower.
2. H&R springs, 30mm drop
3. AVO springs 40mm drop
4. Eibach springs 30/40mm drop
There's probably others too but hey these 4 will do 4 now.
Any suggestions what to go for ???

Come on guys help me out. Is it worth paying the extra for the Eibach springs ?? It seems their approx £40 dearer.
I can't comment on the others (avoid P.I) but the eibachs are certainly impressive. you may find they drop closer to 30mm but the ride is superb.

Cheers Scott ;)
For comfort - H&R
For ultimate handling but can be harsh on sh*tty British roads - Eibach.
For both get decent dampers - Bilstein or Konis - you're wasting your time/money otherwise.

I don't know why but I went with AVO ??!!?? Glenn why do you say get decent dampers as well ?? I think alot of people have just gone for springs to lower. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks
Lowering the car means increasing the spring rate to compensate for the reduction in available travel. Stock dampers (on VAG cars in particular - they haven't made a decent-handling car since the Corrado), are too 'soft' to adequately damp the 'harder' springs oscillations, especially on jiggly surfaces.
This gives two effects :
1. Reduced ride comfort - It's my belief that the ride on the standard Ibiza 20Vt suspension is crap because the springs are too hard for the inadequate dampers. My ride quality has actually improved after fitting H&R coilovers, despite the car being some 30-40mm lower.
2. Increased damper wear as they have to work much harder.
The idea being, that if you do both at the same time you'll only have to pay for 1 lot of fitting & suspension re-alignment. Or, if you DIY, then it'll save you replacing knackered dampers in 6 months time.

Thanks for your input Glenn. That gives me 6 months to save for some dampers then ;)
What's the average price for koni or Bilstein dampers and would they be ok to use with AVO springs ?
Thanks
deffo fit a full kit even if you have to wait a bit,did the spring only route and was back under the car fitting new dampers in 12mths,although they were sh4gged well b4 also if your cars is quite old get new top mount rubbers and bearings(hd ones available from bonrath through gcc)
