Hi people,

I am soon aiming to buy a stelth shelf in order to replace those tinny 6x4's with my treasured 6x9's. Thats not a problem but, I don't want to hack up the existing wires in order to fit those good old 'spade' connectors. What I want to do is use the existing 'male' plug on the end of the speak wire and plug it straight into some sort of adapter which is then connected to the 6x9's.

Do you guys know whether there is such an adapter and if so where I can get hold of one??

Cheers,

Tony

You'll have to chop the connectors off because the standard cable is too short, it bearly reaches the standard 6x4.

Halfords sell the spade connectors for about £2 for a box of em, so chop off the orginal connectors extend the cable using a joining block (Halfords again) and then crimp the new spade connectors on. Once you have all the bits its a 2 minute job. Its easier then messing around trying to find a connector that converts it.

My 5p's worth

Cheers

Your right, they are too short but I intend to extend the wires coming from the speakers to the connectors not the other way round. I will end up doing what you've suggested but I wanna make absolutely sure there isn't another way..

i reccomend using this - pop it in the blank bit under the NS shelf

works a treat - and if you tie all the wires up nice - means the shelf can be popped in/out too ;)

well worth the time/effort http://www.maplin.co.uk/images/catalog/pictures-all/LargeImages/ModuleImages/1389i0.jpg
