Does anyone know if clear rear light lenses are available for the Leon from anywhere?
Don't wanna go all 'Max Power' but they look smart fitted std on the Lexus and BMW compact.

Guess not then!
Never mind, just a thought!:fart:
That would be nice, i'd like something like that too. Nothing yet though, maybe worth checking in Max P when they announce new light clusters fro other cars, get the name of the company that produce them and give em a bell, maybe they've got something in the pipeline.
Though what could be a possibility is that SEAT themselves may produce them, they've already introduced them on the Arosa, so what to say the new revamps of the Leon may not feature them before long. If so like the Arosa they should fit in place of exisiting light clusters on the older cars as the body shape is unlikely to change anyway.
Possibly anyway, Si with the Arosa from Max P has just done it to his Arosa, but maybe thats a bad thing ;)

Mark,
was it your motor that was at Amethyst last week getting a kit fitted?
If it wasn't, who was it? and have you got any pics yet?
I would be interested to see how it looks.
Cheers.
Yep it was my motor, im still waiting for these pics to be posted up on the main webpage, and i'll do some more later in the week after ive washed it :)

VERY NICE!!
Can I be cheeky and ask how much it set you back for the bumper, honeycombe grills, spraying and fitting?
Probably well out of my budget but I could always ask Santa!!
Looking at the pics, I bet it was a big job, how long did it take the guys at Amethyst to get it done?
I am one very jealous guy!
I would rather have the 20VT than the V6, economy, tuning less weight etc but that kit they put on em is well nice! :D

That looks fantastic!!!!!!!.
Thanks glad you like it, i was very happy with the results :)
I would check with the guys at Amethyst for the exact price as this so far has been a one off for me. But im not the only one to have shown an interest, but so far other than the chap in Jersey im the only one to go ahead and do it.
But i paid in the region of £500 for the bumper and all the grille parts, that inlcuded the cost of painting and fitting.
Im intending on getting the rest of the kit as soon as my bank account recovers from this :)

That is a lot more reasonable than I expected.
I reckon Santa maybe able to stretch to that!
It's a shame there are no Seat dealers in Yorkshire that offer the excellent service like Amethyst.
Or is there?
Answers on a postcard please!
ZBOYD,
Nice. Very nice. :)
I'm curious to know what this did to your insurance premium costs? I'm having the standard body kit (front bumper, side skirts) put on mine, but it doesn't really affect the insurance since it's an "accessory" - it qualifies as such 'cos it's in the brochure apparently. ;)
My insurance for the brand new Leon, with the standard kit and I'm 25yrs old with 5yrs NCD, is weighing in at a shade under £1,000 fully comp with two drivers.
Since my car won't be ready until November 8th now, I'm thinking I might change the kit that I put on it from new - depending on the insurance.....
:D
Cheers,
Phatt!
Not sure to be honest i havn't yet told the insurance :p
But with it being a SEAT part anyway, i cant see there being an issue, but i will phone them and ask.
Everything else is covered so im not one of those that runs the gaunlet and hopes for the best.
My 210bhp conversion is all covered as are my wheels and Rear Spoiler and my ICE too, but i must admit i havn't phoned to ask abouyt the new front end.
But as i say being a SEAT part and not an after market styling mod like my Carcept rear spoiler, i cant see it being a headache.
ZBOYD,
Thanks for that; I'll keep my fingers crossed for "no impact" on your insurance, then! :D
Have to have a look into the kit to see if it's what I'm after (have to be a bit careful as I don't wanna make myself a target for pikeys - there's no garage on my house)......
Cheers,
Phatt!

Ta I like to think so
Trouble is i have less money than sense :D wel i do now Amethyst have it all this month :)
Do I assume corrcetly that the Intercooler on the 1.8T models is behind the (bottom of) bumper on the drivers side as per the TDi's, cos if so, where is the air feed into in on the bumper??
I've just removed the small plastic deflector infront of my intercooler, it looks like the air flow should be increased now.
Neil
Yes it is, the normal Leon front end i felt must of been rather restrictive to the air flow, being that there is no direct air feed.
RSD had an idea of putting a vent inside the inner wheel arch, but to be honest cant see how it would of worked that well in hindsight, as the airflows coming from the front of the car, not backwards in thru the wheel arch, unless you reverse a lot at high speed :)
Though im sure it helped dissipate the heat more effectivley.
I think the V6 front bumper with its open grilles low down must be giving a much more direct flow of air to the intercooler.
I think the ultimate though would be to replace the intercooler with a larger unit across the front as in the TT intercooler Forge have made, and have maybe the Leon R's front end, nice and open direct air flow. :D
That would be impressive, i know Riveroll or freind from South America has done this with his Ibiza and impressive it looks too.

if you compare this http://www.seatcupra.net/images/zboyd/bumper/DCP_0746.JPG and look at the osf lower section compared to standard , air flow intake area on th efront is @ least 10x more , only problem is if you REALLY need more flow , remove the fog lamp :( as it sits directly in the channel , standard fog cover is solid , trim next to it is also , only the lower and small inner section is for flow , on the C4 bumper ALL of that honeycomb section is OPEN :p

This is a standard mod most vw, audi and seat owners do...
air goes in - air goes out.
The TT & S4 has this vent from factory.
Trouble with the Leon especially, is that the front end is so closed up, there isnt really any proper direct airflow. Though after adding the V6 front end i think there is now much more air flow to my intercooler. Now ive done this it may be worth trying to vent the innerarch as it may work a lot better now. :D

ZBOYD,
Doesn't the kit make a difference eh!? I got mine done this week -the FULL MONTY!- exactly the same as the V6 Cupra i saw in Andorra in Feb.Front bumper,Rear bumper,Colourcoded door rubbing strips,Side skirts,17" five spoke factory alloys with Pzero assimetric tyres. All that is missing is the running gear for the V6!
It looks the "mutts nuts"!!No ideas on the real cost as yet but hey,its our demo!
I'm sure Flapper will have no probs in getting you down the rest of the kit but you should do it .
Next will be a chip upgrade to 210bhp.
Regards Leon180VT

;) ;)
Nice one, Im after the rest but at a later date, im after a slightly different look to be honest, im now considering going for the Leon R's back bumper i like the look of that.
But i'll see. The front needed changing so bad, and it now looks as it should of the day i bought it :D
Im really happy with the results. But im not finished yet not by a long way ;)
How did you get on with the Side Skirts cause i know Flapper was wondering how well they'd fit. Did you have to get them moulded on? How did you fit them as there seems to be nothing to fit them too. :)
Spot on though chap ;)

Hi Mark,
Well me being an expert partsman(like our mate & my longsuffering fellow SEAT slave FLAPPER) i looked up ALL the bits on parts microfiche & EKTA (electronic parts catalogue) for the Cupra V6 model.Side skirts are not too bad to do,you just need the locating moulding clips and as you know the standard car has no skirts our guys had to measure along the sills just into the stone chip part and drill the body (i checked!they used sealer Thank God;) ) Other special clips hold the skirts underneath the car too and the sills just attach to the prementioned factory clips!
It really looks the dog's bollox though:cool:
I actually ordered the various components up in around Feb!! of this year but alot went to back order and i had some damaged bits come down too! but it was worth the wait.As soon as i get my digi cam back from our sales dept i'll take a couple and waz them on to ya!;) Congrats for such a fab site though! You & Cupraman should raise a pint to yourselves:cheers: this place is
If it would interest ya i'll give you any part numbers that you might need to attach the sills if you decide to go down that road.
email address is rlemarquand@hotmail.com Cheers Rob
Nice look forward to seeing the pics :D
Though i'd like to credit for the Site, im just a regular who helps out where i can. Lee and especially Martyn derserve all the praise for creating a superb resourse for all SEAT enthusiasts.
Its a group effort and its working well :)
YO ROB  i see ya back then , havin fun :)
