Hi all,
I went to Trax this weekend as so did alot of others and i was watching the 0-60's. The fastest car of the day was a Renault 5 GT turbo.....oh yes it thrashed the evo's, scoobies and any other car going on the circuit. Why or how you may ask, see this link below

I know i don't like Renault GT's at the best of times but it just goes to show what expertise and what can be achieved out of a 1.4 Turbo. I think a well done should go to the company who put alot of time and effort into such a small car.
Definitely a car to be avoided at the lights!!!

The fastest time i saw was a 3.31 second and that was a Ford Escort Cosworth.
faster I have seen was 2.9s by one of those twin bike engined kit cars
I thought the fastest time at TRAX was 3.08 seconds not sure by who, the Renault's time was 3.10 seconds due to a broken gearbox on one of the engines :)

ok its twin engine fast as **** blah blah blah but at then end of the day its still a renault 5 which r a pile of wankl! Spend that ammount of £££ on another motor and it would be just as good if not better !!!
Has it ever been run for a day without doing something in?
Everytime I've seen it, it's gone home on the back of a lorry

Sorry I have a pathological dislike of Renaults (becuase they are crap) and Peugots (because they are crap and overrated), but strangely like citroens, I guess because they are less pretentious.

Ok ok. lets calm down, i dont like Renaults either, i was merely pointing out the fact of what has been achieved and giving the respect to the engineers who created a car with very good traction and emense speed in what is a crap car in general. I am not praising Renaults at all, lets clear that fact up shall we.
The same project could be done in a whole host of cars. each one producing the same power and emense speed, just so happened to be a Renault 5, so what if it is a Renault!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, lets duff him up! I'll get the TT out of the garage, then we'll see who's got him on the brakes eh? :D
Oh yeah, my TL thou was no more than 2.5 seconds to 60 (1st gear). Why do car drivers rave about 0-60 times any more? It should all be about 1/4 mile times and terminal speeds, maybe 0-100.
I'm glad that you guys had fun tho. That's what it's really about. Hope everyone from the forum came away from Trax without needing AA assistance or whatever.

Even with 0-100 over the 1/4 mile, with two engines in it, it would have still been bloody quick!!!
