I honestly didn,t know where to put this one.! I have a set of 4 injectors, came out of my old non-turbo Mk2 passat 1600cc Diesel a classic, slow as a bus, regularly overtaken by lorries, but started every time no matter what the weather. Q Do these injectors fit anything current?

Planning on buying a car to fit around the injectors?
Best bet is to post up the part numbers and see if anyone can match up with what other vehicles they may fit.
Then do the ebay bit.

I don't think they can fit any modern tdi. that engine should be in-direct injection with mechanical pump,,, you could donate them to the nearest museum,,,
[my parents bought a NA diesel mk2 passat in 1978 - I was told that was 1500cc, was there a 1600cc too?? - btw, have you seen all those mk2 passat's in iraq? they still sell it there!!!!!!]

Sorry I took so long to answer Basstard, I,ve been listening to my new 6CD changer and on a new shift system at work GRRRR. Yep that was the kind of passatt I had, I even had two of the model before that, petrol 1300cc and a diesel 1600cc my later Passatts were both non-turbo 1600cc Diesel, slow but start everytime anyweather and reliable as hell and so easy to change the cam belt on them, that engine bay was designed for the big 2.2 engine, so I could climb in the bay with my little 1600cc take out the radiator, 5 min job and the grill and you had loads of room to do the cambelt, more than on any other car I,ve worked on, (the engine in those early passats was longitudinal - not sideways so loads of room at the side of the engine also.)

Hey Basstard, can you remember the Hillman Hunter (Sunbeam Arrow in the States) they still make them in Iran, they bought all the dies etc after Chrysler had finished production. I wonder if they do a diesel? you could get a Perkins conversion for the hunter (it was a pig) but economical.

but with 5 doors and single headlight,,, it was 1500cc diesel and yes, started first turn everywhere, anywheater,,, a real truck, better, a mule,,,

Yep I had both those passats, in fact my first one was the very earliest a 1975 model but I did have the big Mk 3, or rather two of them one was a hatch and the other was a big estate car in tobacco brown. I consider that this is a very rare car now here in UK, last one I saw was about 5 yrs ago. Both of mine were the later 1600cc Diesel normally aspirated. When first started from cold, they were very noisy at the top of the engine but would rapidly quieten down as they warmed up. (so easy to work on, It took longer to take off the shields over the cam belt, than it did to fit and tension a new belt.)
