I want an alloy aerial but for some reason I cant unscrew the original one, it uncrews so far and will move up and down but wont come out! I thought mine was dodgy but i checked my girlfriends moms Arosa and hers was the same, how does it come off? HELP!
The aerials are the same on Ibiza/Cordoba/Arosa/Polo/Golf so someone must know!

Apparantly it's an anti-theft feature which needs a really hard tug to get off (ooh err!
The did offer to do it will some kind of special tool (Christ - I'm turning into Finbar Saunders!). I did consider doing it myself but I was worried that the force needed would damage the roof if not done carefully...
Richardsons seemed to think it was a two minute job so why not ask your garage to do it when the car is next in for a service?
I did mine yesterday. All i did was hold the base of the ariel once unscrewed and bend it side to side at about 45 degrees it then broke the attached non thieving bit off allowing you to screw your nice shiny stumpy ariel in its place.
