have a strange problem with my central locking which has only just happened when i went out to the car 2 hours ago. It will open when all doors are locked but wont lock the doors. lights go on, but central locking compressor wont spin (located in the rear right side of boot, under the speakers behind the screening. if i open the passengerside lock manually it wont open the others and vice versa with the driverside. Ive pulled the fuse and its ok,when i put it back the compressor spins for about 20 secs and then stops. the boot wont lock either and ive followed the pneumatics as far as possible but cant find anything obvious. One thing tho , ive found a thick (bout 1- 1/5 cm) white pipe that goes up into the cabin but has no connector at the lower end .. strange or what??
anyone had any problems similar as i dont want to be paying loadsa money to MR. SEAT.

passenger solenoid is slave only so won't activate other doors

pipe is an intake pipe for the compressor - DONT block it

try holding the key down to see if it locks ???

if not i would suggest lookin in drivers door first as switch is in there for BOTH lock/unlock

most common fault is the paddle on the end of the barrel breaking - open door ,on inside you'll see a grommet paralell with handle usually an allen key to undo

then wangle handle out and have a nose

DONT pull off paddle without key in barrel K

Yeah. I had a similar problem when I bought my car, never found out exactly what wos wrong cos I took it back to the dealer and they fixed it under warranty.
I think they had to replace the drivers door locking unit or something.
Good luck.

P.s. Modified my cordoba one stage further at the weekend, caught the door while reversing, pulled it passed its opening point and folded it over by the front wing. Dooohhhh. £££££££.:(

SORTED!!
cheers daz, turns out the pipe connected to the driverside was leaking, i heard it this morning when i had to go out to the shop. i opened the door card and got my fingers in behind the metal bit and pushed it tighter and its working ok now, maybe take it off properly and get it on so that it'll never come back off again....araldite anyone?
