interesting you get 22bhp more than mie but 'only' 9lb/ft - do you know why as i would have expected that with the different turbo on yours (I think) you could have got more ?

yep mine is - getting it roaded again to check the figure as the second to last run was 210BHP, heat soak knocked it back a bit in the end and we knocked a fraction off peak boost to prevent overboost.
Tempted to go back nmow its run in more.

Excellent company, Mike really knows his elbow from his ars*.

I went down with 163bhp and came back with 224bhp. The extra power has dropped my 1/4 miles times from 16.5 to 14.8sec and has increased my top speed by 15mph to.... well lets just say it hits the limiter in 5th.

It seems Jabbasport are producing better figures than their rivals, and they are cheaper.

Are the'before and after' R/R results at Jabba borne out by other R/R tests?

Also, I understand that Jabba, as opoosed to APR and RSD for example, remap your current ECU. What implications does this have on warranty, does it make it easier for dealer to find out? Can it cause any other engine problems - like does it run boost very high?

And are these BHP/Torque figures the results of very high peaks - or is it a smooth curve - if anyone has a scan of one they could email me i'd appreciate it.

Thanks :)

I have a very smooth power curve and torquecurve.
It is a new chip.

Modifications of this nature do invalidate warrentiesbut it is done so that the 1552 that VAG use recognises it as a standard chip and still returns the normal fault codes.

I have had no probs at all with re-mapping best 390squid I'll ever spend on my car. I think the price has risen now though.

I now run a constant 1.0bar of boost with is well within limits

Cheers for the quick reply.

The dealer we use seems OK with mods when I asked them, but best if they don't know, to be safe.

What do they do with the original ECU by the way - would be good if it can be kept to return to normal if requierd for any reason.

they only replace the chip - they give you this back so that you can swap it over at any time.
the jabba-chip should never overboost as it is set for your car.
you can get before and after prints but i was only bothered about after.
getting it rr oct 5th so will see if its still the same 200bhp

Almost on the topic, does anyone think that remapping the ECU will shorten the engines expected life span?

yes. why wouldn't it?

Significantly? Now that is another question!
