 Anyone got any recomendations for a decent set of 6x9's, they are to be run with a 12" 500watt sub. Quite like the infinity's (6935's i think thats the right model number) :dj:

Why do you want 6x9s? If you've got a sub in the boot already you don't need them to fill in the bottom end and you surely don't want them for mid/highs as that will only drag the sound stage backwards. The only reason I would put rear fill in my car is if I had a 5.1 setup, which I don't. Theres also the fact that the sub in your boot will be pushing the air around inside the boot. If the 6x9 are to be mounted through the rear shelf and so use the boot as the enclosure the 2 sets of speakers (sub and 6x9) will most likely fight against each other.

So what would you recommend? Its currently running the four standard speakers + sub? Should I run the amp to some of the original speakers and upgrade them at the same time?

I would suggest you invest the money that you would have spent on the 6x9s on better quality comps up front. The difference between a set of comps costing £100 compared to £250 is quite a lot (not too sure how much you're wanting to spend though, but that was just an example). The difference will be even cleared when powered by a decent amp.

They are not 6x9's but 7x10's
DLS 1070. to give you an idea of the power they can handle they have a 40oz magnet. my girlfriend has them in her mini with DLS 5" components in the front.
No need for subs with these unless you are a serious bass junkie!
They are really impressive...
