Right I've not given the bay of my R a clean for a long time so it's time to give it a good go. Any tips on cleaning the engine bay, products wise etc.

firstly how mucky is it?

I use baby wipes, they pick up really well and leave a nice shine on the plastics etc...

If you are going to use a full on engine/de-greaser, make sure to put nappy bags over the electrics....

I sprayed on some de-greaser with a garden sprayer and wiped off with a soft cloth that I kept rinsing in hot water.....worked pretty well to get the worst of it off.....didn't make things too wet either

Well it was very clean before winter. So it's just general dirt/dust.

try the baby wipes first them, always try not put water under the hood unless its really necessary....

It will take longer but its far safer ;-)
