Hi Bill,

Saw your car at gti international yesterday and just thought i'd tell you how awesome i thought it looked. I didn't manage to get as good a look round it as i would have liked though, maybe next time!

just checked out the sprint results, didn't realise you'd ran, i'm gutted i missed it!
Looks like you're struggling for grip though from you 0-60 time!

yeah as i said in gti international thread I need to learn to drive :p before attempting drag's

Cant get launch right, either bog down first and light up second or light up first 2 gears, or as my 3rd run, not get into 2nd gear :(

My first attempts at 1/4 mile drag on strip...... More difficult than you would think. Atleast I beat everything I was up against so some male pride atleast. Just wish I done more than 3 runs now :(

I second that! My first run was actually my fastest though!

For the first 2 runs i wasn't ready for the light (should have had an amber one) but got off the line prety well but then on my third and final run i was ready for the lights but managed to somehow drop my revs as i launched and ended up bogging down :doh:

Was a good laugh though as i was racing my brother-in-law in his mk4 Golf 180.

Only did 2 runs on the sunday. Put in a time to win the mkiv class by a mile and then didn't see the point of risking breakage.

I could probably have shaved another 10th or 2 but I was happy to win my class (again)

My excuses for being slower than bill are; carpets, doorcards, complete aircon system, full stereo, glovebox full of crap, 100kg+ of extra body pannels, and 100hp deficit. Take your pick.

{sarchastic pi$$ take mode on-NOT to be taken seriously}

Its easier to launch a lower powered car off the line than a higher powered one.

{that and the complete inability I seem to have to manage a good standing start LOL}

I nearly put similar disclaimers on my post bill.
I'd have no shame in getting my arse handed to me by you, or caney. It's what I'd expect. Hence why I was so happy with our little race. Against a Mkiv or a leon, I'd be dissapointed though.
Launching is definitely the difficult bit. I fail to get it right 9 out of 10 times.
Competition usually does it for me though. If i'm up against a car I expect to kill, I launch appallingly. Against a car I expect to lose too it all comes together, so you did me a favor. It's a shame you can't teach me to go around corners and brake late now.
