View Full Version : Brake Disks and Pads
I'm in need of upgrading my disks and pads as my pads have almost bit the dust and the stock disks are shite. I have and 2000 W reg MK2 cordy (same shape as the MK3 ibiza) and wouldn't mind something like zimmerman disks and pagid pads. Does anyone know the exact disk dia, dpeth etc needed so I don't buy the wrong ones?? pads are obviously to fit the disks. and will the standard calipers cope??
cheers

my '99 2.0 16v cordy has 280 mm discs at the front, but im not sure what size your are ,either way ive heard good things about pagid, and im about to try pagid fast road pads, discs-wise ive used standard and also the EBC greenstuff turbo discs and they warped very quickly (not even driven hard).
btw i think your discs will probably be 256 as they are the next size down from mine as I'd guess that your engine is either 1.4 or 1.6.:)
Your Discs are 256mmx20mm vented
Pagid Fast Road Pads are good - as are their discs
Have seen a nicely cracked set of Zimmermann discs recently

Grooved discs are good but will munch through pads a bit quicker than a regular disc. Drilled discs are good, but prone to cracking around the drilled holes.
Personally, I use EBC TurboGroove discs with Pagid Fast Road pads in my mk2 2.0 8v Ibiza. Discs are 256mm x 20mm vented, grooved and blind drilled. Blind drilled holes don't go right through the disc material, resulting in a disc which is less prone to cracking, has good gas dispersion, but not such good cooling. The brake setup on my car is the same as a mk2 Ibiza TDi, so prob same as mk3 Ibiza TDi and hence your Cordy TDi... And keep the fluid fresh...
