I try to do a decent mod and I also fight with some details... car chassis is cupra original, we have bad roads. The car is used all over the year, summer/winter.:)

Your car is better lookin than mine anyway,,,

how do you use the original cupra suspension?????? I thought the springs were too soft to bear the diesel engine weight - it is quite heavier than the 1.8T.

looking good, an LCR front splitter would finish the front end off. Any plans for any engine work?? Is this a PD diesel??

yeah, I'm too for the lcr splitter,,,
this is not a pd engine btw,,,

I thought our engine was heavier,,,
[btw, the british call it 'petrol' not 'benzin' - they might not understand]

some questions then mate:

-when you put in the vnt17 [130 turbo] did you have to use a different manifold or was it a direct swap? [i.e. take out old turbo, bolt the new one in]
-what car exactly was the turbo off? golf, ibiza, audi or what else?
-what intercooler did you use?

turbo is from czech car Skoda Fabia RS
I only change turbo, no other modification
this year I want to change intercooler:)

Looks very good seatik :) welcome aboard SCN

Interesting to read the direct bolt on change to a 130 turbo, but im not sure what sort of gains thats going to give if any? anyone care to comment?

using a vnt17 gives you better flow [the turbo is bigger] and it handles more boost [stock 130 runs 1.8 peak and does 1.5 constant IIRC] than the VNT15 [which has a max constant of 1.2]. You need a remap and an intercooler to take advantage of it. and most likely a better clutch.

interesting, thank you carlo.

I am really interested in putting a vnt15/17 hybrid in,,, but firstly I need to find a cheap turbo [they are mega pricey on ebay and in the local market, I know people who found some units for a bargain] then I need to get a suitable intercooler, one that's not too big [I don't want lag] but that cools enough and at the same time will be possible to install without sawing off half of the car,,, but maybe I want everything together and this can't be done,,,

Hello.
I am a friend of Seatik. His tuner :-).

The mods he desribed, he mean, they are in very soon plan to do.

Basstard: Do not affraid of lag. Put whole GT17 turbo, not hybrid. Complete GT17 is much better.
And good intercooler, I would preffer PD150 IC. But do not know, if you are able to install it into your car (because of space).

Vnt15 boosts about 0.95 bar stock. PD130 GT17 boosts 1.35 stock.

Regarding the Seatik car:
It is stock now, only with mild chip to approx. 135hp.

The plans are:
- powerplus764 or race520 nozzles
- GT17 turbo
- bigger IC
- custom software

To do 180hp mild TDI.. Seatik doesn't want to build some extreme beast (yet :D ... but he will change his opinion I believe :-)).

He asked me to put explanation here.

I hope I will not be thrown out, because of my car (not seat) :-)

bye

ahh ok so they are plans for his car. i get you. thanks reesha. you wont get thrown out, and VAG TDI is welcome here :)

Your vento sounds a bit nice too, more details?

first of all, many thx for the explanation.

there's a lot of people with vw cars in here so you won't be thrown out, you're welcome!

I'd like a vnt 15/17 hybrid cos I drive the city all the time and very few outside town trips so driveability is a big issue, I can't stand any lag, when I want power, it has to be there!

Why you say a hybrid 15/17 is not good? the compressor wheel is of the 17 so it should be ok if I raise boost to, say, 1.3 bar, not?

As for the IC I thought of the stock 130 one, it's not that big, should fit quite easily and it goes ok with remapped 130s so it could go ok on my car,,,

what do you think?

Hello..

I do not visit these pages too often, so sorry for my late response.

Regarding the hybrid. I would rather use stock PD130 (or PD150 turbo, as it is the best, what you can get for your TDI engine and mount without complications). It is more effective, and I think, the lag is insignificant. Quite comparable to vnt15. There is no need to be affraid. :-)

PD130 IC .. not too good. Quite small. But it depends, what power you want. Maybe it could be enough for your purpose.

But if I shall compare to PD150 - it is uncomparable! PD150 IC is one of the most effective.

For instance. I tuned PD130 engine to 180hp. With stock PD130 IC we were getting air temperatures over 90°C!!! - very fast.
After PD150 IC install, the temperatures doesn't go over 35-40°C all the time, and we can boost more (within these temperatures). It is really big difference.

ok, thanx for the suggestions,,,

yes, the 130 IC could be good, I don't want to boost more than 1.3/1.4 which is what the stock 130 engine does so it should be ok. not?

one more question, ain't dieselpower.cz the company which did the black leon that beat the ferrari in that infamous drag race?

they look a bit Mk2. quite cool though. You need some rear spacers and also the trims for the jacking points :p

Very nice! :D Interesting to see the Furby vRS turbo bolts straight on!

Stew, they are MK2 wheels, they're the same as mine :)
