AutoTechnik in Southampton changed ownership back in April last year, and since then the place has gone rapidly down hill. The last straw was Vanessa leaving a few months ago.

Now made the rather sad decision to take my cars elsewhere from now on following some pretty poor service. Shame to do this after 6 years of great work on all of my motors. Example of recent customer service was last time Ibiza was in, told they couldn't fit an uprated front ARB as it interfered with the lambda probe. Badger Bill fitted one on Saturday - lambda comes out of top of exhaust, ARB goes below exhaust. So either the mechanic had no idea or they just couldn't be bothered.

Anyway, wondering if anyone knows where Al and the other mechanics went to? I have Vanessa's details, but wondered if anyone else has any other info - have the mechanics setup again under another name or moved to another VAG specialist in the area?

No idea where they went bud but lots of others have found that they've gone down hill since the change of ownership.

JKM arent too far down the M27 and can't be faulted :)

That's where I'm heading to next.

VAG specialist bubble bursting, why who else has gone downhill? I asusme it's because of the new VAG engine ranges etc etc.

I used Alresford Motor Company a couple of years back when i had the Golf, and could never fault them. The service was always good as was their knowledge, however they could sometimes be a little condescending.

I think it can be put down to so called VW specialists knowing mk2 digifant issues all the while, but not keeping up to speed on 'new' stuff

the older cars market dies off / people not willing to pump money at a 15yr old golf etc - and no knowledge of new stuff

clearly not all are like this, but many are.

Well if mine doesn't go to JKM it'll go back to the Meadens of Sway dealer as they seem ok
