Hi
My name is Dmitry and im from Sydney Australia,
I own a Seat Cordoba 1995 with the old style bumpers.
Im in a desperate need to change them to something more updated, for the back i'm thinking to put the 1998 model bumper but would it fit???

In Australia Seat's are not popular whats so ever and any tuning shop i approach does not even know what a cordoba looks like!!!
I was wondering if you could help me source a front bumper, side skirts and tell me if the 1998 rear bumper would fit on my 1995 Cordoba.

I absolutly have no one else to ask, and you are my last hope!
Also if you know can i change my motor for the ibiza cupra? or just the 2.0l 8v ibiza gti?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you.

I'm assuming with it being a '95 that it's a 4 door saloon. I've got a 2.0 16v SX coupe now but before that I had a GTI which is pretty much the same as yours but with a 2.0 8v engine. You should definatley be able to fit one of those without any hassle. And the 8v is fantastic at long distance cruising with all that torque.

As for the bumpers.... not sure about that. I must admit I never changed anything on my '94 Cordy.

Also there's another guy on here from oz. Might be from round your neck of the woods so could suggest some places to take your seat.

;) Thanks a lot guy's, Brad i came across your web site a number of times
and have seen your car.
About TCCA, i know Milan and he has alredy started to help me. I started my suspension and
already fitted Billstein front racing shocksand he has the rears and the H&R springs most probably same as yours.
Did you ever think of an engine conversion??? I drove the Ibiza Gti 2.0l 8v and the difference is very noticeble!
i do not personaly know what might be achieved from exhaust, chip induction and so on from our motors but
i am very keen on changing it??? if u have an icq then msg me mine is 1298 1233

Dee,

Yeah that was the same bloke I got my Springs from at TCCA.

I havent really thought of an engine conversion. I feel doing an engine conversion could lead to future problems. I prefer factory assembled motors..then enhancing on top.

The 2Ltr 8v Ibiza would be noticeable over the 1.8Ltr 8v Codoba...the power to weight ratio is more significant

Ibiza Weight ~ 920-970kg (~85Kw / 160Nm) 2.0Ltr 8v
Cordoba Weight ~ 960-1000kg (~70Kw / 145Nm) 1.8Ltr 8v

There was a bloke who added a turbo to his 1.6Ltr Cordy....his stats where off the charts

Nope...I dont have an ICQ #
