If so what can you get out of it ?
Not sure if i can get away with it as mine is a company car, can it be done then removed before it goes back to the lease company ?

A friend I know with a V5 Bora has a Superchip, exhaust, induction kit fitted and it ran 140bhp @ wheels on TSR's rollers week last Saturday.
150bhp factory flywheel for his motor, so he probably runs 165-170 approx after these mods.
He has not said he has had any problems with the Superchips mod.
Sounds lovely.

Mines 170 Bhp as standard
What could i expect if i got it chipped, can't really mess with flywheels and stuff
Stu
Stu,
That's 170 hp at the flywheel, right? You'll lose a large chunk of that by the time it reaches the wheels, even more if 4wd.

i don't know mate
Standard quoted Bhp for V5 Toledo is 170
Flywheel - not sure ?
Stu
All manufacturer numbers are at the flywheel. Just to piss us off some more american SAE HP is different than the HP over in Europe.
I'm not sure how much you'll see Stu, but the differences are not like that of a turbo diesel, so I wouldn't expect more than 10hp.
I think Bill's 'bout right, you lose 10-15% by the time you get to the wheels.
I think the exhaust, induction kit and possibly a rad cam might give you bigger bang (but not necessarily for the buck).
Back in the '80s when I had a the Scirocco, the biggest HP gain came after installing a complete exhaust + a Schrick cam.
Perhaps AMD.. they can do V5 Golfs..

I don;t see the point of a chip unless you;ve done serious mods and the your better off with a fully programmable system
