Any opinions on the best way of running in a PD engine? AFAIK there is no official run in period, although I may be wrong.

I've provisionally planned 500 miles using up to 2,500rpm, then during the next 500 miles gradually bringing in the rest of the revs. Following this with 1000 miles of normal use before a minor service to check everything is OK and then get it chipped. Does this sound OK?

The 130 should be here before the end of the month, but even for me putting on 2000 miles before the 9th November could be pushing things, the GB rally is the following weekend so ideally want it done before then.

there certainly is an official running-in period for the 110 (in the handbook) - just can't remember it....think it goes to 1K miles.

Standard stuff - no more than 75% max revs for 1st 2-300 miles []iand[/i] no long bouts at any specific engine speed. (Made drive back from holland interesting for those following as I constantly moved between 60-75mph

Lesser constraints as you approach 1K. Then you is free!
