my dads 2001 1.4 mk3 SEAT ibiza has a fault for a while now and its getting worse, every so often it decides not to start and jump leads wont work only toeing then bump starting on hill works, most of the times that is!

my dad got it serviced of a fella and put it on the computer "supposely" and what i was thinking was the coilpack before he put it on the check, which it supposely came up as a fault afterall - so he bought a new coilpack and it started fine after wards for a short while.

lately its been getting worse, it even cuts out while driving and the 2 service lights come on (EPC & the starter sysmbol i think) surelythe starter wont after the engine while driving, does it not just start the engine then its finished?

we've put new plantium spark plugs in yesterday also to see if that was the problem but failed to start afterwards :censored:

whats peoples opionions on this, has anyone experienced this before that maybe could help me, if so thanks very much

does anyone know were i can get a VAG car check apart from SEAT as think theyre bit over expensive? (NI)

thanks in advanced, Joe

It sounds like the starter motor solenoid is sticking.

hey sorry about the delay but not on the computer much (Y)

the fault was that the wires that was going into the ECU were rotten because of the crappy design and arent covered too good.

yeah the 1.4 has a coilpack, which are common to go.
