Folks,

I'm considering buying a new Arosa TDI, and I've got a couple of questions for anyone out there...

As I've not arranged a test drive yet, can anyone compare the performance of the Arosa TDI with a mk2 ibiza 1.4 (my current car)?

Is it possible to get the factory/dealer to fit the front fogs, if so how much?

Can you get a front loading multiCD unit for the Arosa?

What colour should I get Black or Silver...?

Thanks for the advice,

Tonman.

They run out of power a bit at the top end but in the midrange ie. where you drive 90% of the time, it will accelerate quite briskly. I would think that the performance would easily embarrass you old 1.4. You could always get it chipped to 95bhp, almost as much as the 1.4 Sport but with loads more torque.

Quite nice inside too. Best get yourself off for a test drive!

Not sure about the fogs, although seems like £££'s to me.

Aftermarket CD players usually the best bet, although VAG do sell the in-dash 6 (or is it 5?) disc changers.

Black better than silver. Blue is good too.

Tonman,

I currently own a 2001 Y Arosa TDi, obviously colour is down to preference, personally I find Black shows dirt and scartches too easily, Silver and Red look best in my opinion.

Your Ibiza only has 60bhp against the Arosa's 75bhp and it is much lighter and has far more torque - they really are nippy little things as long as you remember to change up no later than than 4,000rpm - the power soon tales off after then.

To really get some good performance you need a chip or (like me) a plug in tuning box, it makes a hell of difference!

I've never looked into buying the CD or front fogs - sorry.

You definetly need a test drive - great fun to drive.

Bad points, cheap front seats that stain very easily, and a bit basic inside.

Good points, good build quality, excellent motorway car(only pulls 2,500rpm@70mph) good performance, excellent economy.

Regards,

Gavin.
