HI, I've a question: Is it possible to transform a Leon Cupra 2.8 vr6 on a 3.2 vr6 (the same as the Golf R32)?
Thank you for your answers and sorry for my bad english:redface:

Why not rebore the 2.8 to 3.2 ? probably get more power out of a proper V6 than the narrow angle 3.2 anyway.

But I saw that we obtained more power on a prepared 3.2 than out of a prepared 2.8

Be a lot cheaper to rebore the existing engine than transplant a narrow angle 3.2, and I am sure the power would be similiar at least.

The 2.8 engines are narrow angle as well aren't they?

They are the Audi v6 , not the VW narrow angle VR motors.
Looks like a narrow angle v6, same as the golf. Makes sense seeing as it's based on the same platform.

Would not say no if that was under bonnet.:D Been a few guys on the forum that have confirmed it is an audi motor.
But as you say it would make sense as it is the same chassis. Perhaps someone can confirm either way.
What sounds better, VW uses Audi engines or Audi uses VW engines? It's just marketing blurb. Golf size cars use narrow angle v6's and the Passat/A4 and up use wide angle.

Yup fair point. Now if only we could shoe horn a w12 motor into a leon.

who says you cant ;)
Yes it is a straight swap.
If you reserach a bit a guy done it on a V6 4-motion bora and swapped it for a 3.2 R32 engine. It was a straight swap, the only prolem he had was the problem of sourcing a RHD engine.
Make sure when you do the conversion you get a lhd engine as i assume yours is left hand, also try to get the locks and ECU
Personally i would just supercharge or turbo yours, there are loads of bolt on kits that see and easy 300 bhp from the v6 motor in the leon/golf.
the magazine by the way was Volkswagen driver, about a year ago.
