CD auto-changer is auto changing!

Hi folks,

I have a 2K Ibiza Turbo and it has the CD autochanger gubbins in the boot. Up until about 4 weeks ago everything worked fine, but now it seems to miss CD 4 and 5.

We can occasionally get it to play either disc but most of the time it comes back saying CD Error and then bypasses both discs and jumps to the 6th one.

I thought it could be caused by using a CD-R, but I swapped them all about and it's still failing on 4 and 5.

Not taken it to the dealers yet as I dunno how to explain it properly - has anyone else suffered this annoyance? If so, how was it solved?

sounds like a warranty job i'm afraid

i have known one to miss a disc before but never as wierd as that :(

just on the off chance disconnect the c.d changer from the head unit completely leave it for a while in a warm room and see if this has any differance sometimes when the weather changes quite quickly you can get a build up of condenation on some parts of the changer and this can cause a few problems.
also check the changer cable for any kinks or bends as this can sometimes happen and cause the unit to go screwey
