Hellow!
I am new in this forum, first sorry because my bad English and then let me to present.
I am 33 years old, married, with a son and am from Bilbao, Spain.
My car is Toledo 20VT Signa, it was buyed in July and it has 11.500 km happy km.
Before it, I had another 2 years old Toledo, TDi 110 version, I was very happy with it, but 20VT 180HP 6 gears model appeared in market and impacted me, was irresistible for me!
This version is phased on because V5 170HP is phased off in Spain.
Another good things are Bilstein Sprint + Eibach Springs I have installed (I kept them in the first Toledo and have moved from old car to new)
Also I have put "taloneras" from Leon Cupra and modified exhaust (original have no sound!!, now the sound is like Leon 20VT or S3)
Here is a photo.
Regards and we will read each other!
Welcome to the forum and the Cupra.net community. Your English is very good.

Thank you everybody!
Syphon, Toonman, Harry, Mark, Pete, Rhumber... really mi English is poor but writing you can think bettter words in order to make a comprehensible expression. It's the problem of much people in Spain, we have no practise oral English. (And we have translation programs in Internet to let us a hand
Rhumber, what is the meaning of "sprog"?
Mi wife was very nice with me in this subjet, she tolds me to buy it because otherwise I would regret in the future!
That is beautiful in coexistence, ;)

Wilfredo I shall be adding the Bilstien dampers to my Leon 20vt when I find a supplier in England.:)

Yes, I am Athletic Club supporter, but soft supporter.
Years ago I went to San Mames stadium to see maches. Now I see them by TV.
I also remember maches against Mewcastle! Since that days we aren't in european competition :(
Yes, our supporters are great, good people who is difficult to meet in messes.
In fact, Athletic is one of oldests football clubs in Spain (was founded at 1898). Only Huelva Recreation Club is older.
And great influence of this fact was because English sailors played footbal in our landscape, really similar yours, always green.
The firts teams were compounded by englishman and basque people, and mister was English too (We have got several English trainers in our history)
Unique foreigners football players who have played here are English, at the beginning. Now we are playing only with basque people (or basque parents) and from near regions. Last years we are having problems to catch a good level in Spanish league because keeping that phylosophy... but by the moment we are in Spanish premier league yet.
In fact, Athletic, Real Madrid and F.C. Barcelona are unique clubs who never had let premier league in all their history.

Really Bilstein is a great option.
They aren't a table and save progresivity for the normal riding day by day. Howewer, your behavior in curve will be better and you will haven't rebounds of body car.
And maybe importan: You have no to take care of regulation (they are autoregulated)

It is looking like next year 2003 the Leon Supercopa Series will be racing in England.
I'm looking forward to it as we have some good tracks over here in England.
Did you watch them race in Spain this year?

It is a good new!
Here it is a spectacular cup, the latest race was last Sunday in Jerez circuit, with Sport GT championship and another cups.
Some friends from South of Spain could see the race, but I am very far from Jerez...
I remember that in some spanish car magazine was published the test of that Leon machine adapted to circuits.

Ahhh!
:) :)
I understand now...
Well, I have said you that I have a son (almost 3 years old) but another one is in the way!! He/she will be born at May/2003 if all goes good.
For that, the best thing in my car is the enormous bag hole ...
;)
mark sheerin
14-10-2002, 23:45
We shouldn't laugh but BAG HOLE is not a good translation except on a Friday night in Leeds
shiver me timbers....LOL:D
Wilfredo...Please for Bag Hole use Boot...but not old boot
;)
Regards Mark
HarryHarrison

BAG HOLE
That is a fantastic name for the boot.
I am going to start using that all the time.
It will especially wind my las up. She hates silly words for things.
For example, you say scooby and she will reply in a stroppy voice "Its not a scooby, its a subaru!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
She doesn't complain about "Sespit" for Sierra though :D
"Put the shopping in the bag hole dear"
Ha ha ha
"Its in the bag hole"
Ha ha ha
"You left it in the bag hole. I have put the car in the car hole now"
Excellent! ;)

And after a kebab or curry which hole will be burning?
Its a rhetorical question before anyone answers
:D

Buonas diaz Wilfredo.
Su Toledo mira muy bien.
Can you tell me what tailpipe you have fitted to your car ? Was it a straight swap for the original one ?
Cheers.
Wilfredo

Hellow, Stu:
I kept off original and enormous exhaust that didn't let you ear anything, also putting your ear near the exhaust!
Them, a local specialized garage of exhaust, installed me a normal universal exhaust, no sport exhaust in fact, (Duramas is the name) but opener than original.
And was acopled double pipe terminal to itself, practised by cutting (here is most delicate part, they have to make it fine) a corridor in the rear bumper.
The objetive was a set with aspect like one would be made in production line, like Leon 20VT or Ibiza/Cordoba Cupra.
I looked for no exagerattions, rather in aspect than in sound.
Cheers
Wilfredo
16-10-2002, 18:54
I've forgotten prices (including installing time):
Duramas exhaust: around 120€
Double pipe chromium terminal (not stainless steel, I would prefer but was no available in double pipe): around 33€
:)
Thanks Wilfredo.
I will look to do a similar modification to my Toledo soon. I know a very good custom exhaust maker near to where I live.
Will let you know how I get on.
The V5 engine has such a nice sound between 2K and 5K revs, and SEAT have done a very good job at trying to silence it !
Cheers
Wilfredo

Ok, I post you a photo of rear side and you will see it better.
;)
Welcome Wilfredo
Excuse my ignorance, but did the side skirts (the pastic addition below the doors) come as standard or did you get them fittted? I just wondered how they were fitted as I dont want to drill holes in that part of the car if I get some.
andy
Wilfredo
18-10-2002, 22:11
Thanks Andy!
No, they didn't come as standard equipment in any Toledo (An exception was Toledo Cupra prototipe).
In fact they are in Seat Leon catalogue, not in Toledo's one.
But they are 100% avaliable for Toledo because that part of chasis is the same and you don't have to drill any aditional hole.
Seat part number is 1M0071001 and here price for the kit(pieces, painting and instalation) was around 360€ including 16% task, in official Seat concessionaire (where the car was buyed).
Welcome onboard!!! It's about time someone else from the Iberian Peninsula is onboard
Wilfredo

Obrigado (thanks), Paulo!
Can you post or e-mail me a photo from your Toledo?

It looks very pretty, congratulations!
Do you install 17" wheels like original equipment in Seat instead serial 16" or you put them after and sell by yourself 16" ones?
Your tyres are 225/45/17?
Here in my technical documentation are allowed 205/50/17, but another references doesn't appear.
Thanks!
My car came with the same wheels as your car! I have since bought the 17".
My 1st tires on the 17" where 205/50-17 Michelin Pilot Sport. Now I am running 225/45-17 Goodyear Eagle F1. I think 205/50-17 is good enough for my car, but the 225/45 tires cost less money.
Wilfredo
24-10-2002, 23:27
In Spain is the same, actually 205/50/17 are more expensive than 215/45/17 or 225/45/17 (these two have similar costs depending on manufacturer)
Here is a spanish web for tyres prices, perhaps it gives you an idea.
www.teleneumatico.com
The prices look the same, but I remember some years ago (more than 10), we would go to Spain to get cheaper tires:)
