My new Leon Cupra is due any moment now (I am going through a tortuous process with Virgin Cars - see Imports thread) and I have ordered Azalea red, as the colour of the car on the Seat website and brochure looked fantastic. Is it true that this colour is not available in the UK and that I am the only one on this forum who has opted for this superior option ??!!

Not a very interesting thread I know, but indulge me.

cheers

Lee

I also wanted azelea red for my car, it looks really nice!!!, but cupras were rare at the time i ordered mine and it was either wait 8 weeks for azelea, or take flash red straight away as i found a dealer in london that had 1 in stock redy to deliver!!,

As i didnt want to wait, i snapped up flash red!,

That colour was available to me though in the UK, (not an import)

Picked up my Leon Cupra in Azalea red (uk model) from Inverness last week & the colour looks way better than the brochure. Only thing is it really shows up the Dirt, my fault for living in the sticks I suppose, anyhow looking forward to getting a few more miles in on these lovely twisty single track roads. :D

My car was sitting in stock, think the Garage had ordered it then the customer cancelled. I don't know if you can still order this colour or not.

I also have the azelia red colour - Mine is an ex-demo car coming up 6mths old.

The colour is much better that the one shown in the brochure - it is much lighter, no where near the 'maroon' colour in the brochure.

This colour must be/have been available as mine is a uk car. The colour seems to change shade an awful lot depending upon the light/weather. In the rain/when the car is wet it looks quite a deep red. in the sun it looks a salmon colour, and when it is dusk it looks a rusty orange.

Does everyone else think this or are my eyes deceiving me!!!

Cheers

Andy,

Its not a fault with your eyes. The same thing happens to me also. It is the quality of the colour/painting. If you look very-very carefully you'll spot some white dots inside the paint. Just like a constelation. These might be responsible for the reflections of the colour....The local garage man said its called "perl effect"
