View Full Version : Grille problems HELP PLEASE ASAP.
Ive got my drivin test in 13 days now and my ibiza is nowhere ready, Im waiting to sort my grille out to get a respray done to finish the car, Its a 95 m reg and has the old grille with the badge as part of the surround, i want a new type one to fit the car as best as possible. I know the 97 cupra one is way off but ive been told the 97-98 cordy one will fit. Are the mountings the same/ similar and can anyone get me a part number. Please reply as soon as possible so i can get one on order and finish the car.
No, i checked it meanwhile. It is the grille of the 96 Ibiza Gti 1.8 16V, or 96 Cordoba 1.6 SX. Though i've seen it on newer cordies even, that's no reference i think.
Last weekend I picked up a new grill for mine from Amethyst - we put it up against a newer type grill & it's totally different.
The clips are different & the two on the outer side don't exist on the newer type (cos they are screwed in ?)
I think you might be stuck with an old one.
Cordies have the same grill as the beeza for that era

gently cut the badge mounting part off and mesh it from behind???
saves gettin a new one painted too then ??
TIP: to remove the black section use a BIG DRILL BIT on the melted pegs on the back , just spin it enough to take the heads of (hence BIG DRILL) it will leave you some SMALL tubes to screw the mesh into . (SMALL SCREWS ONLY MIND)or the will come out the front . :p

Carlt needs the old type grille which doesn't have a badge in it. It is certainly totally different from the new one, that is why he needs it and cannot fit the new one! The grille of 1996 Ibiza Gti and Codroba SX have that grille, so carlt also needs that one. Get him a part number Flapper.
