Spent the day giving the new edition to the family a good clean. Took all day but the car looks great now. [B)]
Debadged the rear while I was giving the car the treatment. :D

Was a full days work but it was worth it. Now just need to get the cash together to drop her over those TT comps and add my usual little touches. Rear wiper is probably going this weekend for that smooth look :D
Got a few other things planned including a real high end audio system. ;)

OK for the detailing geeks among us... I used Meguires Clay bar, then stages 1 and 2 cleanser and polish, then Harly Wax.
All by hand, none of this pansy machine polishing :roflmao:
Molehill_Mike
27-09-2006, 09:10
Think I'll have to give this clay bar a go... does it help with scratches?
Mike

27-09-2006, 09:14
no it just helps remove crap from your paint.

I'm sure it'll be the same as the RZ's on the R. Everyone said they hated them until they saw them on the car in the metal ;)
Coming along nicely.
Whens the coilies arriving?

Yeah but it gets messy when the weather is warmer and it melts
i think it looks great, love the wheels on it :) How about colour coding the wing mirrors?
Icecavern
27-09-2006, 12:28
Yeah on the list "to do" is...
Colour coding the wing mirror covers, door handles, and rubbing strips.
Removing the seat badge off the boot.
Debadged front Grille
FR lower grilles
Lowering
Some shiney bits in the cabin
How much of that I'll actually do depends on the funds and time I spend on the Cordy.

I want my old one back :(
Which one!? :p
Looking good Pete, but I thought those wheels were originally destined for the Cordy?
PS: Sorry to hear about your job :(
Icecavern
28-09-2006, 19:54
They were mate, but then I figured I'll just get another set for the Cordy once it's on 4 5 stud wheels :D
:censored: happens job wise. I'll sort something out at some point. The sooner the better :)

Today saw the end of the yellow dial rings which I wasn't keen on...
So the before pic...

And after with my new black dials [B)]

PS Yellow dials will be for sale in the classifieds later ;)
actually makes it easier to see the dials
bet they look good Pete.... (Em's damn work PC blocks anythng to do with Ice Cavern.... Grrrrrr!)

13-10-2006, 23:15
Look much better Pete.
Err.. Howcome your car's mileage is higher WITH the yellow dials (i.e. before) than it is with the black (after)!? Photochopping going on here!?
Icecavern
14-10-2006, 07:28
Yeah much easier to see, and they look better when lit up too...
Ian, I never noticed that before. Powering down the dials and removing them has lost a mile off the odometer... I wonder how many times you can get it to do that
wernt them wheels for the cordy?

Any lower and I'll never get in the gym car park. The undertray is so damn low it'll catch on the security ramp things as it is I think.
I've got something up my sleave seat wise too but need to sort out a way to keep the ECU happy withou the airbags plugged in for that one ;)
My Momo steering wheel boss uses a 10 amp blade fuse which wires in the old airbag connector to render it there when the car scans for it.
It might be worth doing some research :)
Icecavern
08-11-2006, 18:55
Interesting...
Pete, the undertray is a waste of time if you're on coilovers, besides, its that thick its actually miles away from the sump!
I took mine off and after 18 months the engine was still looking clean!
Oh and I had to get over humps to get that pic, it took them surprisingly well! :)
Icecavern
08-11-2006, 19:13
It's not humps, it's this type of thing... http://www.autopa.co.uk/product_images/onewaytrafficcontrol.jpg
Might look at replacing the undertray with something low profile ;)
looks nice pete. nice street sleeper.
warning - tom is going to get all reminicent of his old tdi soon!

real nice on the coilys mate :)
Get an LCR splitter on there...
Icecavern

Get an LCR splitter on there...
I was never that keen on the splitter on the LCR ( which is why I took it off ) so I doubt one will make it's way onto the beeza either...
Just gave the car a wash and took some better pics.

Gorgeous colour mate... paint work looks immaculate!
Do you need spacers on the back? 5mm perhaps?
Mike
Icecavern
09-11-2006, 16:46
Well the phrase "the camera never lies" is a lie in itself. The paintwork isn't immaculate, there's a few scuffs in it here and there. But it doesn't look too shabby :D
Yeah I'm thinking of adding some spacers on the back just to push them out a little.
Pete
What bodywork plans have you got?
Makes me want my coilovers and RS6's back on mine...
Icecavern
09-11-2006, 17:48
I don't have any other plans other than the install. The cordoba is the main toy.
Colour coding would look ace tho...
Maybe abit of smoothing here an there... especilly as your going for the "Euro" look
Icecavern
09-11-2006, 17:54
If I was going to do anything I'd get the handles, rubbing strips, and wing mirrors sprayed and have the boot badge smoothed off. I was going to get a debadged grill, but I've noticed they have a chrome edge to them and I don't like it so haven't bothered.
Scotty_b
09-11-2006, 17:57
Looking great pete. Whats the plans for the install?
Icecavern
09-11-2006, 18:00
The install will be ( when I finish it )
Eclipse CD HU
Focal Berylium 2 ways.
3 Focal amps ( 2 for the front active and 1 sub amp )
2 Focal Berylium 8" subs.
:D
