PABLO ESCABAR

i thought id better warn all people insured by Adrian Fluxx to ring up in the morning and check there details!!!!!!!
I have just been pulled over by the law and nearly had my CAR IMPOUNDED 6 points and a night in the cells for no insurance.Adrian fluxx took my money for my policy yesterday so i know that i am insured, after a short argument and near lock up the horrible copper admitted that i was the 4th car today insured with Adrian fluxx that he had pulled over and 2 of them were not so lucky and now have to find £120 for the car to be towed and £12 a day for storage untill this is sorted out.
So lads and lasses please do the right thing and contact Adrian fluxx first thing in the morning to check your details and make sure they update there system so this does not happen to anyone else as i'm still wound up like a clock and my hatered for the old bill is still growing stronger and stronger.
Please let this be a warnin to all of you keep an eye on Adrian fluxx[:@] [:@] [:@]

So all this is actually down to the time taken by Adrian Flux (or their underwriter) to update the insurance database?

It's an interesting scenario - but not one that requires 'headbutting' police

You wouldn't get a night in a cell for no insurance either - but your car would be towed. Perhaps rightly so... they tend not to tow unless they have reasonable grounds for not beleiving you.

And lets face it - most people that will come up on ANPR do have something to hide. Luckily, you're in the minority.

Cops must have been blitz on yesterday, had the APNR van on the A33 just outside Chineham this morning, with lots of biker boys pulling people in both directions.

I would be pretty pissed as well, considering the cost of insurance. How many people keep their insurance details in the car anyway ? I certainly don't.

I work for the RAC and have just contacted our insurance depot and check all of my details and they are faxxin me an insurance validation cert out as i right this, now i have to chase all this up with the police and fsa who govern the insurance companies and make my claim through them as i have been told that i am well with in my rights to take this further due to the stress and panic it has caused,,,,,,,lets see what happens now

Hang on...

If I've got this right AF made a mistake, fair enough I'd be :censored: at them too. But you're having a pop at the cop for pulling you for no insurance and then being a bit shirty with you when you've told us how you immediately jumped out of the car and started giving him verbal and acting aggressive before he'd even got off the bike??

He was doing his job, I'd rather him be pulling uninsured drivers off the road and giving them greif than sitting on a dual carraigeway pulling drivers for doing 75... And lets face it, as far as the system says you're uninsured.

as far as i was concerned mate there was no reson to pull me as i was not speedin or doin anythin that would of caused him to pull me apart from seein a lad in a dun up car which stafford coppers spend all there time doin, as for the speedin doin 75 on a dual carriage way 3 point and a £ 60 fine less than 2 months ago ,,,,,

Still doesn't justify having a go at the cop. I've been pulled over before to tell me a brake light was out. Wanted to tell me before I got pulled by someone in a bad mood as he could see I had a nice car. Now if I'd gone up to him guns blazing giving him attitude he could have done me for it himself. But I didn't and he just looked round the car and let me go knowing I needed to drop by halfords on the way home.

Personally in your situation if I'd have been the cop and you came straight up to me with an attitude giving me verbal I'd have impounded your car anyway.

were has all this verbal stuff come from mate
yes i had attitude and spoke my mind and told him i was unhappy with being pulled as most people would be.
Lets just get this straight before you get anymore facts wrong,,,i exited my vehicle and approuch the officer before he got off the bike and asked him WHY i had been pulled with a bit of attitude,at which he did not like and got all NYPD and started raising HIS voice,,,, i have it all recorded on voice recorder from my phone mate and once he was told i was recording it changed his tune to mr nice cop,,,,,wife a witness to all this
at this point he told me that as i was with Adrian fluxx and he had had trouble already tonight with them said sorry and we were to get in contact with them first thing in the mornin to sort this out..........
at first he did not believe i had insurance because of where i live and the car is registered, there was no innocent untill proven guilty as i come from the wrong end of town mate and thats all he saw!!!!!!!!!!

My first hand experience of the legal system is that you are guilty until proven beyond doubt that you are innocent... between the lines a Chief Inspector has told me that also... it's the British Justice System for you!!

However, my experience with police when you do get pulled over, is everything happens much better if you're nice with the officer... even if you are sitting in the back of their patrol car getting a grilling... in the event of anything going to court, your attitude is noted!

There's no excuse for Adrian Flux's mistake - if the details were wrong on their system, you were by any letter of the law uninsured.

ii) a Policeman can pull over whoever he wants over. Its called the law.

just to throw the mix in a bit how is that going to work on a traders policy ?? muppets

i'm insured as are 5 others of us for any car up the value of 150k fully comp - on one policy

guess i best carry a copy of it with me then

30-09-2006, 21:13
If you're on a trade policy, then you will still be stopped if driving an uninsured car - but the police will have access to the 'policy' on the Insurance Database too

But taking a copy of the policy will speed that process up.

Lots of info here - http://www.miic.org.uk/

You'd be suprised at the amount of 'normal' people that don't tax their cars or insure them properly

My next door neighbour is convinced he can drive his daughters car (it's not insured) on his policy (normal road car 3rd pty only on other vehicles) - normal enough 50 something - but he'll be chuffed to bits when it's taken at the roadside.

it's not just spotty 16yr olds - so in all honesty, if your plate shows up & you can't prove it, you are guilty.

I guess the thread starter had no insurance until the day before he was pulled (hope you weren't driving....) so justifiably the copper pulled you because to his best information - you had no insurance.

I knew someone who did something similar, bought a car and though he could drive it 3rd party through company car insurance, once we pointed out the car does actually have to have some kind of insurance and not in his name he soon stopped driving it. You need to read the small print when things like this are concerned.

Yes, Adrian Flux, fcuked up ( and I have heard loads of stories about them and others before I left Blightie), but in the eyes of the law, you technically didnt have insurance so it was right for the them to stop you. Sorry, but that is the law

I know someone (good ten years ago) who got an IN10 despite having a temp 60 day insurance cert because their broker took their money and didn't pass it on to the insurer and the broker didnt do anything to resolve the situation
