Red to III - 5
You also have to switch the mute on in the prog function of the stereo

I bought a lead from Dashmount.com so that you don't need to fit the speaker. The lead fits between the radio and the wires going to the radio - you therefore dont need to find a power supply or anything, it just plugs in. They also do a mounting kit.

Yeah, they do a mounting kit. They used to do it so it was fabricated wrongly too. Until Mr Mouse here pointed it out....and they denyied. So I sent em a pic to prove it.

Did I get any thanks...did i hell.

< Gripe mode off >

BTW the subwoofer pin doesn't have a contact in it. So no subwoofer.

I don't think there is an actual mute function on the Beta unit. U have to set the 'SOFT VOL' function to zero so that when the phone activates the radio is set to it's lowest vol leve but not switched off (you can still here it a little)

There is a telephone mute on the 2002 Ibiza headunit because I have the Nokia car kit (As fitted at Amethyst by Swinny and friends above.). When the phone rings (Or when you dial out) the stereo mutes and says "TELEPHONE" in big letters across the RDS display.

Hi Swinny, how are you doing? Haven't seen you around for a long time... not since you left Amethyst.

Cheers

Hi ben I am good thankyou.

With reference to the phone kit do you not need to use the yellow wire fron the phone kit to switch on the muting via the additional lead you have fitted as i presume that lead provides audio through the car speakers ?

It's not actually a mute as far as i know....if it is then please tell me how to turn it on!!!

The TELEPHONE icon comes up on the screen but it actually initiates the SOFT VOL function.

I guess it makes little difference anyway!

Cheers

Just out of interest what sort of money are you talking about for the Nokia car kit fitted?

Hmm..it's about 90 quid for UNfitted. But it's not difficult to fit. Try Anglesea car audio.
