Mk1 Leon 1.4 16v stalling and hunting-Help!

Hi, I've got a 2004 1.4 Leon that had started to have an intermittent problem. When cold it seems to run ok, revs at just over 1000rpm. However, when it has warmed up and I stop for a short while on re-starting the revs keep on dropping and then jumping up. This will carry on for about 10 minutes, if I slow drown during this time and drop the clutch the engine will stall.

Any ideas please.

I had the same problem with my seat Leon, mine is also a 2004 1.4 16v, first thing in the morning it's fine but once the engine has warmed up as I get to a set of traffic lights and stop to a halt the engine stalls :( I thought at one point it was my alternator because once the engine stalled all that was left on my dial display was a battery sign but my mate a the garage had a look...he switched off the car placed his foot right down on the accelerator then switched the car on and waited for a click once we heard that he lifted his foot off the accelerator and my problem has now stopped hope it's the same for u mate

My car seems to be running better now. Do you know what this actually does?
