New car: Audi A6 2.0 TDI S-line

Now then

Bought yesterday from a work colleague who is retiring - 2008 Audi A6 2.0TDI S-Line, Daytona Grey, black leather

Fantastic nick, sat nav, black-pack, bells and whistles

Loads of room - needed for growing family

Naturally the mods have started already - had some 6 spoke MO's in the shed that are going to get refurbed tomorrow

Stock wheels are 8x16 ET43, MOs are 8X16 ET40....perfect

Need a second opinion on colour though......

As the car has the black pack, which is like a shiney piano black that you can see on the front grill, was thinking gloss black wheels.....

What do we reckon?

Have seen Rocco's on shiney black wheels and they look good

Will it suit an A6 on MO's?

Ave it

Rob

That's pimp

Yes, black wheels (though not sure on if the MO's are going to be the right ones) - but I like that.

Families not growing more is it?

Growing as in growing bigger, not more numerous. Need to put bikes in boot along with tons of other clobber. Refuse to go down the mpv route so a6 was good alternative. Cavernous car. Never before have i not had to have the front seat fully back....cannot reach the pedals with this one fully back. Just put 5 18" wheels in the boot, 2 with tyres on. Mega.

Would have liked an estate but this one came along and is a good one. Job done.

Had em on the a4 for several years with no probs so we'll see i guess. Got some good locks for them so they will have audi locks plus an additional set.

Next mods are debadge rear and replace chrome audi rings front and back with black or carbon. No joy with wrappers today, nobody wanted to wrap the rings, too hard they say. So it might have to be black plastic ones off the bay, or carbon if i can find any......

And an ipod/ audi mmi cable

And a liberal sprinkling of Revo magic dust

44mpg to and from work today, ace for a large car.

Wheels are pimped and look fantastic! The Wheel Specialists in Manchester - highly recommended!

No photos just yet as waiting for a couple more bits for the full effect

Rob,

Out of interest, what did they charge for the wheel refurb?

Had a quote from a local mobile guy (comes with several good recommendations) for £160 for 4 x 18's done in situ at work.

Looking good though

Hi Andy

Wheel refurb was £390 - sounds a lot but this was tyres off, whole wheel back to metal, couple dings welded up, powdercoated, tyres refitted, new valves, wax, and fitted back to car. Also I had the ali Compomotive center caps powdercoated black which was a tenner each. And a couple old tyres disposed of.

They look like new wheels. Fantastic job. Well pleased.

Cheers

Rob

Ta. Its called the black styling pack. Piano black grill and window surrounds. Have also ordered black audi rings for front and back, and smoked front wing repeaters. Chrome 'A6' and TDI are coming off the back. Then tints on the windows. Have also ordered black plastic wheel bolt caps.

Should look ok when everything arrives.

Simple things but should change the look to what I'm after.

Car is fantastic. Its not quick, 140 engine, but its quick enough and does 45 mpg which is what i wanted. Going to put Revo on it though so will get a bit more umph and no worse economy. Steering is nice, ride is miles better than my Sline A4 quat. Stereo is brilliant, bose surround sound.

I really like it.

Gonna try the rings and if it looks crap, they can always go back on. Black ones were only cheap.

I wish they did the 'black pack' for the Exeo. The Chrome trim just looks tacky.
