Mk3 Ibiza Cupra Suspension - DECISIONS DECISIONS...

Right guys, looking for a bit of advice and your thoughts on how best to upgrade the suspension on my Beeza...

Got a budget of around £400 (might stretch to £500) and looking to :

a) Make the car handle better
b) Lower it a bit (around 30mm)

Whats everyones recommendation for suspension kit? I've been considering the Bilstein Sprintline kit, but also heard of the Streetline kits - What are the differences?

Also thought about the H&R Cup kit but think that is too much of a drop as my LCR front splitter already rubs going into my works carpark.

Also, spacers - Seen Eibach 16mm for around £30 from MSW. Does anyway know if that price includes new bolts?

Also noticed that Awesome are offering a Koni kit for around £360 which seemed like a good price but haven't seen may peoples opinions of these???

So, just looking for a bit of advice, recommendations, pros/cons etc of each kit.

Cheers guys...
Meeko

Hi Meeko. Please keep me uppdated as Im interested in the same mod. Im seriously considering the Seat sport suspension kit. This kit doesnt lower the car so much and still improves handling. Im waiting for a price on shippment for the kit from uk as I live in Norway (and Seat ibiza is a rare car over here, less then 10 of the 1.8T 20V)

Off topic but as I ordered the LCR front spitter from a local seat dealer today Im interested to know how difficult this is to mount.

16mm spacers dont exist... from Eibach.. They would be 2 x 8mm ones and not hubcentric. 15mm are the smallest hubcentrics from Eibach. and that price would not likely include bolts

Yeah, thats the ones i meant, the 2x8mm ones (that makes 16mm, see ).

How do you mean they are not hubcentric tho - wots that mean?

And when you say 15mm hubcentrics are the smallest Eibach do, do you mean 2x7.5 or 15mm each???

Do you run spacers yourself bill?

Cheers,
Graeme

2x8=16... Yay, we can both add up

I run 15mm hubcentric (spacers which have a hub on them for the wheel to engage onto), 7.5" wide 16" rims, with 215-40 tyres lowered 50mm (or more)

Did you know the rear end track woidth of the MK3 Ibiza Cupra is 35mm narrower than the front? - thats why 15/20mm spacers dramatically aid the stability of the car. (especially under braking)

I have just put on a set of Koni adjustable shocks with Eibach springs it only goes down about 25mm but handles loads better!! I would recommend this set up if you don't want to go to low.

I also have a set of 15mm spacers on order, been desperate to get some ever since i had to get rid of my 20mm ones as they wouldn't fit with my new alloys. Should handle a bit better again with these on.

I've got the Seat Sport suspension kit (and 15mm Eibach spacers). It doesn't lower the car by much (maybe 20mm) but that's still enough to give it a bit more of a sporty stance.

When I fitted the susp. kit it totally transformed the handling and the ride is also smoother than with standard setup!

I'd reccommend it to anyone who doesn't want a massive drop.

Here's some before and after pics but they were taken on the same day so the kit has settled a bit more since.

before

after
