Revs during idle going up and down itself

Car is a 1.9TDi 130, what could cause this?

It could be a fault on your idle speed valve on your inlet manifold or a leaking gasket/vacuum hose.

I had a problem with mine, I found that spraying carb cleaner through the intake pipe whilst the engine is running helped, but if the problem continues it will need replacing. However before you replace it you need to check the vacuum pipes and manifold gasket. It could be as simple as a split vacuum hose

TDI dont have an idle control valve, my bet is air leak and a big one, or sticking egr valve can cause this
