Best deal on oil for PD-TDI
Hi Oilman.
Got a Mk1 Leon FR TDI (1.9 PD engine), remapped, 57k miles. About to do my first oil change since purchase. What's the best oil deal from Opie Oils for this engine at the moment? I'm going to be running short, fixed oil change intervals of 5-7k miles (my annual mileage). Cheers, Ben |

Thanks - seemed like a good price to me as well, given that Halfords are charging over £40 for their own-brand stuff
![]() Looks like I'll need a couple of litres of sythetic transmission fluid and some Silkolene Pro RG2 grease as well (for my bike)... |

I to am in the same boat, perhamps you could shed some light on something for me
2005/2005 Leon FR 150 tdi, Opie oils website, if you click through "right oil for my car ) Seat leon 2004 FR 110kw you end up here Fuchs TITAN GT1 LONGLIFE III 5W-30 Premium Synthetic meeting VW504.00, VW507.00 Millers Oils XF Longlife 5w-30 Mobil 1 ESP 5W-30 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil Motul VW SPECIFIC 504 00-507 00 5W-30 Gasoline and Diesel oil for EURO IV engines Castrol EDGE 5W-30 FST fully synthetic engine oil If you view oil by specification, vw-50501- the main choices are 5w-40 oils opposed to the 5w30 so which is better / if any? |

Hi
The website overspecifies to keep things simple, it recommends the latest spec for all VAG cars. The ones the site lists are fine for your engine, but cost more than the 505.01 spec oils. Personally, I'd save the money and get a 505.01 oil. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-751-vw-50501-oil.aspx Cheers Tim
