Specialist near Wolverhampton
So i have been searching for a reliable independent VW garage as i have never had a VAG car before so don't of any.
I've been recommended two garages so far who have quoted me on a 2008 24,00miles Cupra K1 : Midlands VW (Cannock)- Full service including brake fluid change £225 Cambelt change including water pump £300 VW rescue- Full service including brake fluid change £275 Cambelt change including water pump £350 A straight £100 difference but will have to travel twice the distance. These prices fair? Any other garages worth getting a quote off? Last edited by Top Dog; 19-06-2012 at 16:42. |

Midland VW get my vote too. I went to them about a groaning noise that I thought was bearings, they simply refused to strip it down and told me to replace the tyres. Lo and behold, that fixed the problem!!
![]() Any other company would have given me four new bearings and I'd have been no better off. |

Cheers for the recommendation, the guy on the phone did seem genuine as i asked if the parts were genuine and he said their isn't really anything that's really genuine but they will use quality parts. I live in the middle of wolves mate so Cannock is 13miles away from me on the M6. But don't mind traveling their if their that good, as only the best wil do for my K1 Yea its a major service as i don't really know what the previous keeper really did change on it when he had it the service. Ah ok, still a bit of a right angle rather than going direct but it makes more sense than the M6!

I would go through wolvo get onto the cannock road and follow it all the way to cannock, at the shell garage island turn right onto the a5 and follow it towards brownhills, midland vw is just off the a5 norton canes

Coming from Bilston I think you're right with the black country route/A34, I thought you were more central to Wolves.
You could turn off the A34 and head through Pelsall, then north on the B4154 would get you straight there? |

I shall not be using vw rescue again, had a service there a few months ago, got told my wheel bearing was shot and my front rear wishbone bushes had gave up, took it to my brother in law and it turned out my tyres had gone into 50p shapes which explained the noise and there was absolutely nothing wrong with my bushes

Midland VW are a very good place to take your car. I have took various cars there and always received good service.
Plus there's a cafe a few doors away plus they have wifi to get you entertained whilst u wait. |
