Unhappy She's going in again tomorrow

Back to the dealer tomorrow (Monday) she goes to get the new pump relay fitted.

Let's see if they can fix the flashing interior door lights this time. :head:

Also going to pickup the bonnet seal I ordered.

Hopefully this will be the last trip to the dealer until its 1st service. (fingers crossed!)

Cheers Bri.

I will let you know how I get on. (I'm hoping to notice this increase in power you mentioned - )

Oh well. I can still pretend.

Lets hope fitting the rubber strip doesn't prevent cooling air under the bonnet and thus robbing you of another .001 bhp

Talking

Good luck, it might even come back with less problems than when it went in

Did they say it needed the rubber seal, or is that you going mad with the extras ? ( The engine bay in mine is still very clean, despite salted roads and rain )

P.S. does that mean your in an Arosa today ?

Cheers guys.

Not sure if the rubber strip will fit as it is an accessory for the std. Leon. I presume it will the same. They are going to check and let me know.

I'm in a new Ibiza (1.2) not an arosa. Handles nicely. Lack of power though.

Cheers,

Scott

The extra streamlining adds about 10BHP. It also protects from front impacts and absorbs much of the shock.

Only kidding.

It just provides a much better seal and makes sure no extra gunk gets into your engine bay. (admittedly there isn't any in there at the moment) but it won't do any harm to have the thing fitted.

Don't even mention those sort of things, quickly now - touch wood. You've just cursed us all

I think i'll miss it out, sounds like added weight for no gain

Dealer visit went well.

I told them not to bother with the flashy door lights until the service as I thought it had stopped. Guess what - on the way home they started again!

Got my bonnet seal. Leo it only weighs a few grams! Wouldn't it be worth it just to keep all that (potential) gunk out of your engine bay?

Got my little Seat valve caps.

Got my whirry noise now!

Got the brakes checked with no problems reported.

Me a lot happier now.

Thumbs up

Okay okay so it's only a few grams, but shouldn't it be there to start with. Did you have to pay for it ?

Got my whirry noise now

Can you explain this a bit more please, like when it starts (engine on / off) where you hear it (inside/outside caR) and how long it lasts (before/after driving), and finally what it's exact name is so that when i explain to my dealer the ywill understand me

I know it's a lot of question for this time of the day but it could be your good deed for today

Exclamation

Righty ho here we go, i've just had a reply from my dealer and the head guy in service/parts has spoken directly to Seat today and also had a fax from their recall department.

Officially there have been no recalls for any Seat Leon Cupra R's, and so far they know nothing about any 'pump relay' defects.

So presumably your all now as confused as i am about this 'fault'

1) Should it whirr at all ?
2) If yes then, what is it doing ?
3) If it is supposed to whirr and doesn't, what damage may have been done.
4) If it is not what should we do ?
5) If there's been no recalls then how has all this speculation started ?
6) There's plenty more questions, but i've probably bored you already with these

Great. Denial by Seat. How come some owners have received letters from Seat UK asking them to take the car into their dealers.

RE: Rubber seal - I did pay for it. It was only a couple of quid.

It's an electrical pump that circulates the coolant after stopping the engine to prevent any build-up of hotspots.
