Anyone replaced their fuel flap (not the solenoid)?

The solenoid on my fuel flap failed quite a while ago but it failed open and I never got round to getting it fixed. My flap continued to open and close fine by pushing on it (it just didn't lock). I know however guys on this forum have replaced theirs and it's a reasonably easy job. My problem now is that my fuel flap won't open as the hinge support is loose and causing the flap to drop. It is a real struggle to push it in at the right angle to get the internal catch and latch to line up so it will open. Has anyone had theirs replaced or done the job themselves? I think the part number I need is 5F4809905.
