Left this a bit late so for those interested and for my own records here we go from the start

When i first bought her back from up north to her new home in Birmingham!

Mod bug soon kicked in so i added some red coil packs and a forge twintake and a forge dv return hose as the original was looking tired

Kept finding small oil patchs on the drive and the sump was coated in oil

I read about online and heard of the end cap leaking so i whipped the wheel off and the inner arch and found this sorry sight , so i ordered and replaced this...leak free!

A few weeks passed and i loved the car but it was sounding very muted so i ordered myself a decat downpipe and me and a trust friend set about fitting the new downpipe.

He likes to get stuck into things to say the least but after a short afternoon of cut fingers and earfulls of swearing the decat was fitted

2 weeks later i had it sent to MIJ to have the rear section made to 3inch so it now has a full 3inch turbo back with oval tip

It is loud but makes all the right noises in all the wrong places lol

Now it had the breathing sorted out i decided to book in for a r tech stage 2

As you can tell by the 2nd photo if youve been to r tech youd know the loud cars have to have the door shut on them :(

Car made 323bhp with 333ft lb torque

I was hoping for more but after talking to nick it appeared my car wasnt getting flow to the top end due to my twintake not being up the task and my aircon rad being correded/battered and not allowing flow to the intercooler.

He also said it was making a rattling noise under part throttle and he was cringing on the dyno incase of detonation.

So i went away to research and resolve!

Listening to r techs advise i soon set about resolving my problems

Firstly i did a AC delete and noticed the boost held stronger for longer!

Secondly i ordered and fitted a revo intake!

Thirdly i took my car to a local trusted garage and turns out my cam chain tensioner was slack , once a new one was fitted the engine was silent! After fitting that we could also hear a very slight big end knock so i instructed to have my big ends changed , once changed and complete the car was silent and prove smooth as new.....for 130mile and it threw up low oil pressure warnings and i pulled over to get recovered home and get her back to the garage

Now my car is in the garage and the sump off it had squashed cyclinder 4 bearing again :(

So next plan off attack is the engine out , crank reground incase its ovaled and destroying bearings and fit all new bottom end bearings and also have my oil pump reconditioned with new shafts and sprockets so they dont shear off.

Rods ordered and here , just awaiting crank to be dropped so i can take the parts to get reconditioned!

So after a expensive and heart aching 7 months of ownership im hoping she gets back to full health

In the mean time i have my project car i can use to potter around in of a weekend

This car has proved most reliable out of the lot apart from a few minor cosmetic and a squeaky steering pump she serves me well until my cupra is back

As she stands now the old girl

Crank is out , dropping to machine shop tomorrow

Next steps are bores rehoning and new piston rings to be fitted!

Thanks mate

Its meant to be my project but has swapped places with the cupra and has proved to be alot of fun and very reliable

I could only imagine what they was like when they was released

Engine completely stripped so the block can be sent to machine shop to determine if a rehone is fine if not then its going 0.5mm oversize

Wossner pistons will be ordered when the shop confirm what size i need!

Block rehoned and 82.5mm wossners ordered with 21mm wrist pin and 9:8:1 compression

Can finally start going back together!

Treated her to a new clutch plate whilst it was off , pistons should arrive tomorrow and hopefully get my car back on the road soon.

Also bought a gas bonnet strut conversion kit off a member off here so i can fit that as soon as i get the car back

I have the same intake (CDL engine), APR st2+.
Can you check and publish your fuel trims?

Block 32.1 , 32.2 33.1 ?

Our intakes (I mean Forge's) are widely known for having issues with correct MAF reading due to wrong housing shape and diameter + air turbulence

Iv removed it and went for a revo , when i went to rtech and had my custom map it was proving to restrict airflow to the top end and he recommended the revo as he was seeing the best results for top end flow matey
