Parkers still lists a price for my car. £250 for 170,000 miles so mileage adjust for 156,000 is about £400-500 ? Old girls worth more than that surely. Another 20 years and I'll be bald and perhaps she'll be worth £3000, :D

Either cars dealers are looking too much money for their stock or parkers prices are way lower than what's on the forecourts. I'm talking independent traders and about a 750 to 1500 more than what parkers states for a £3500- 5000 car. Or maybe parkers is geared towards UK mainland and Northern Ireland prices are inflated a bit because we are on another Island and have less choice and higher initial delivery costs from the manufacturers.

I think I paid £1050 or so with 118,000 miles 8 years ago. Our prices must be higher over here. Either that or I got my eye wiped. Springs still haven't arrived just yet. Any thoughts on bush preference?

Drive shaft was too short so cut the loose balancer off mine in the meantime until I can source one. Both front wheel bearings have been replaced now and the front h and r 30 mm drop springs are in along with the bilstein b4 dampers. The rear beam is presently being tidied for this weekend coming and the rear matching springs and dampers will be put in then. I have to have to email powerflex about the failed sleeve and get a new one sent out and get a new bolt again, don't know why it keeps failing . The wheel bearing failing maybe causing vibration and wear. I'lll get it in when doing the shaft and following that get the alignment checked/set. Then if she starts to feel like she's behaving herself then we can look at b8's and rear anti roll bars. I'm not sure about 312 mm brakes at the minute because she locks the fromt wheels up easily and requires little pedal effort to haul up with the 280mm stoppers. Would still like to retrofit abs but we'll see. No pics as it was done in the mates garage and time constraints don't permit. I'll have to do a write up of some sort.

The tyres for sixteen inch that keep the same overall rolling radius as my 195/50/15 tyres and wheels of 576 mm is 215/40/16. The rim width that best matches this is 7.5J and offset is average 30-35 which puts the rim tyre combination 38/40mm further out and away from the vehicle that my current tyre set up sits at. It also goes further in towards the shocks and will need spaced out which I will be doing at the back anyway. This spacing will bring it out further again. The deep dish alloys really look the part but I'll have to study if the 7J alloy will take the 215/40/16 tyre safely and fit with necessary spacing with out rubbing on components or buffing arches because I don't know if I could be annoyed rolling/flaring or spacing out arches. So may have to stick to the 15" wheels and tyres.

I installed some bosch 0.205 um nossles today after I had them spray tested at the weekend by injector specialist Tommy Wright. It was a tough old job. 159,000 miles and a lot of crud later, cleaning them was far from fun so no photos AGAIN. Sorry to disapoint. It feels a bit stronger mid revs at part throttle but i can't feel any difference full throttle worth talking about. I think i need to do the boost pressure sensor conversion from the ecu to the 3 bar map sensor.

I had these in the shed from my 110 bhp tdi leon which were in the shed for i while hence why i had them tested. I was hoping to pull the bosios back out of the leon before I sold her but didn't manage to. I'll get 0.232 I think it is, bosio race 520 or there abouts for when I get my big hybrid awx turbo. Don't laugh, I may be thorough, not slow, but I get there in the end.

My laptop is down again, POS, with a dead internal battery. It needs keyboard, cd drive, harddrive, fan, heatsink and motherboard taken out to get at the battery compartment. What a nuisanace. Some guy off you tube took a dremel to his to be able to get straight at the compartment without taking it all apart but I'll just do it the correct way.

Facebook is a load of dung, does my head in. I think I,ll delete my profile. This weather is doing my head in too. I suppose I should be greatful though as my house hasn't been flooded. It's getting there though since the next door neighbour had their front garden paved over. Now our front garden fills up a good bit more than it used to with run off from their property. Hopefully I,all get doing some car stuff this sat as it's meant to be dry. Happy new year folks, hope God blesses you.

Got my homemade tuning box, modified evry device, installed and egt are climbing to about 800-850 deg C. No 0-60mph as I kept getting limp mode but 50-70 in 4th and 5th is 5.9s and 7.2s with very little smoke. Steady state boost is 0.8/9 bar and it can come up til 1.3-1.5max. So I think the 0.205um bosch nozzles will be maxxed out before the turbo can't flow enough air.

Rear beam still isn't in but I took a notion to go big power road. Well 180/190 bhp. 210/220bhp if I do the arp fastners. So I bought some parts that I've found a wee bit elusive lately. An AFN exhaust manifold. An engine bracket and a 175*550*65mm cored FMIC.

I have a dawes device about here somewhere that'll cut out boost spikes. Then I'll put in an electronic boost bleed in the ecu and bring up the boost and final set the fuelling and see how she goes.

I bought a ARL PD bottom end, an engine stand and my good friend diesel des donated a gt22v hybrid turbo to me which will be getting a billet wheeel for even more puff. I can't find my dawes device so will have to order a new one. The goal is 240bhp. I'll have to get some pics up when I get something interesting to look at. The garage needs cleared out again.

On a more annoying note. I have a coolant leak which coincides with a damp patch on a dry day in the d/s footwell which I suspect to be, hopefully, the seals that join the pipes that go through the bulkhead on their way to the matrix. Not looking forward to fixing that one.

On a more positive note got the service done last week. Pollen, fuel, air and oil filter and oil change. Coolant system flush through and refresh. Tension auxhillary v belt. Top up brake fluid. Check power steering fluid. Swap wheels front to back. Check brakes and bushes. Front bushes need replaced on drivers side.

Got a clean enough set of gti cupra sport 16 inch ronal 12 spoke alloys. I plan to have them refurbed back to orginal with gunmetal grey inlays and a diamond cut face. White would be a heck of a lot cheaper but not too sure how it would look on a white car and I think I'm set on the diamond cut look. One of them has a crack on the edge which I hope won't affect the refurb too much. Another set on ebay went for £16.50 and I offered the fella an extra £55 over what they went for plus I'd pay courier but he was having now of it. These alloys come up for sale once in a blue moon so was happy to have a few spare to get a full set out of and a full size spare even if it wasn't fully refurbished.

Got a new addition to the family. A march 99 1.391 cc petrol 3 door ibiza s. It's a bit tatty interior wise but engine's good and body work's ok. The only bad bit is clutch needs sorted but it'll only do 3000 miles a year so it'll do alright.

MPI - nice engine that. Bit low compression, but there you are.

Clutch is easy & cheap though!

Miss you guys. Not much happening, just servicing the Quattro slowly but surely. The work I have done on the Cordoba is pictured on the LG spirit which got smashed and money is better spent on parts for turbos and cross drilled brakes instead. Done over 10000 miles since march. So oil and filter due at the weekend along with water pump, she's overheating.

Sorry, yes Mork it's a nice wee car which is good fun. The engine isn't rocket ship but does feel willing and reasonable early torque. Ropey suspension means flat out over speed bumps.

The old girl might need put out to pasture. The water pump spat the dummy and the coolant 43 miles from home. Not in AA so must needs and drove home coolantless for 43 miles. The oil light flickered at 34 miles when I let her cool for an hour and then drove the remainder home with no more warning lights. She needs a bit of TLC.

Been thinking of turning her into a dedicated track car as the wife hates her and I'm the only one driving her and we have the Quattro as the main car now and the Ibiza as the stand in/run around. What do you think? Yay or nay?

Got the water pump fitted and what I job that was. Got a few pics will upload from the laptop at some point with whatever else is due. It might be the cold weather but she now cools down to much when giving it a dose of chat.

Anymore thoughts on making a track car out of her?

Didn't have time to bless myself today folks and just about got the Cordoba through the mot today. Jobs were drivers side most front control arm bush. Secure lower bumper trim as I now have a front mount intercooler fitted but not plumbed. Finally got to fit Abigail's door card after she bust the window and last but not least fixed the rear earth and another broken wire so the window wiper and fogs work. I never even got to clean her out but the old girl bit the mot guys didn't seem to care. So I can't remember of I got any pics or not. They didn't notice the hole in the subframe above the control arm though. This will need remedied before next year or sooner as I have noticed it getting worse year on year. A good reason to do your own work, then you know the vehicle and it's faults inside out

The bush work was securing bolt and bush sleeve replacement as the bush itself was ok. It seems to be the drivers side only that's wears. Don't understand this unless it has somethin to do with the rotting subframe..

cupra sport alloy wheels

Does anyone know what the colour of the multi spoke 16" ronals is and don't say white :). To clarify they are off a 98/99 Ibiza cupra sport or gti sport or something like that, ao many derivatives. I think factory options were diamond cut with grey inlays, expensive, and all white with the black seat centre badges. I'm going to go with the white and have a go at it myself but don't know the exact colour. Would anybody know what the colour code is or it's name?

Thanks.
