My only concern is with this opposed to a proper kit is that the MAF isn't braced. The MAF is quite sensitive to vibration and knocks so might lead to premature failure. Might be worth making up a bracket?

My the bracket on the RamAir on my Mk3 Cupra actually broke... I cable tied it down untilI could fix it.

I thought about this myself. As it is the weight of the airfilter is only supported by the TIP, although it is very unlikely the worse case scenario is that if you go over too many bumps/speed humps/etc you could potentially pull the TIP away from the turbo bringing with it a whole world of pain and suffering which we all would do best to avoid. I'm going to make some sort of support today.

oooh i could see a group buy on here fellas.... mods??

I tried to organise a group buy for THS engine mounts ages ago and the Mods were'nt interested as THS are not forum sponsors. Unfortunately, neither are Jetex. :(

Where's your logs guys, come on. ;)
I use cable & pipe bandit to secure it. (metal pvc coated straping with holes)

Just as a temporary measure I've tie wrapped the end of the filter to the battery cover.
Not the best pics but there you go, it's actually quite solid but I intend to extend the section
after the MAF to centralize the filter and bring it closer to the wing so it'll do for now.

Tried to do some logs earlier on but got stuck in a massive traffic jam as my 'Test Track'
was closed in both directions. On nights tonight so I might try to do some in the morning
while the roads are clear.

Ok, some Vag-Com logs. All done in 4th gear.

The following three logs were from my PREVIOUS induction set up;

The previous set up shows a maximum mass flow of 194.17g/s,
The Jetex set up shows a maximum mass flow of 202g/s, a gain of 7.83g/s and if I'm correct
a potential power gain of just over 10 BHP.

I'm still getting to grips with Vag-Com so any comments or help is appreciated.

I'm afraid I'm still with the tie wrap jobbie as pictured in post 92, lol. I want to put a bit of an
extention in before I fit something permanent but it's fine for now.
(Where would British Industry be if all the tie wraps, welding rods and bits of tape all broke at the same time??)
:D

Yeah that's what i've been thinking for mine. Probably only need a bit of silicone pipe, about 2-3 inches long, should put it right next to the wing. Is there anywhere suitable to attach a support near the wing? Can't say i've looked since i bought mine
