the bloody tail lights on the SC look exactly the same but the 5 door ones have changed. What's that all about???!!!

Found this little pic on the Spanish SEAT site. It looks like there is a new tail light design on SC, might be you only get it with the LEDs, like the latest Leons.

o God they are doing the same as they did with the Leon... Fr's are now loosing their identity. Big fail imo

No not really, When customers come in and see the FR and love it but then see the price and just want a normal day to day car but with the looks of the FR the old sport just didn't look the same so I think it will be perfect idea !!!

Group buy anyone? Hopefully it will be retrofit-able to the current MK5

EDIT: What page was it on anyway? Can't seem to find...

Bit disappointing. Why are they keeping the E model? Nobody buys them. And why no 85PS 1.2 TSI as per the Fabia, A1 and Golf to replace the dated 1.4?

Disagree. Fr is like Fords ST. Cupra is like Fords RS. Big mistake imo. It would certainly put me off.

I thought that was the point of the aero kit lol? The fr has always been the cupra "lite" decent performance and good looks and a suitable alternative to the full fat version. It would make more sense if they are introducing a cupra r. A better choice would be to keep the sport and have the styling pack as an optional extra, similar to bmw, audi, merc etc but to actually advertise it lol, as the aero kit looked awesome on the mk5

They did for a while, made 250 Ibiza Black's with the body kit, then a year later made another 250 but they didn't tell that well because of the price really.

Body kit is £1000 to buy plus fitting and painting. just makes the car at more £££ and once you have done that you might as well have a fr

The bodykit sucks, especially the rear bumper. It needs honeycomb grilles not horizontal lines!!!!

I'm in 2 minds about the FR thing, I couldn't afford a FR, hence why I have a 1.6 TDI Sport, which does look like every other model (thankfully I've addressed that a bit with my mods)
So a 1.6 TDI FR is kind of appealing, but it does dilute the FR brand which is a bad thing IMO.

Should really have what Ford have with the Zetec S models. Slightly sportier styling, but not the same as an ST or RS.

well you have to ask the question about the pricing then. if upgrading alloys costs £200 at factory, how can SEAT justify charging £1500 for a bodykit that can be installed at the factory but they choose not too?

Go the direction of audi, introduce a styling line, £1000 = lowering springs, body kit and upgraded alloys on the sport model, that would be appealing to a fair few buyers and not devalue the FR brand which was always viewed a premium thing.

EDIT: just looked at The A1 (same car near enough) £1200 (or close to) gets you:
  • upgraded wheels
  • upgraded Interior (seats, sills, steering wheel & floor mats)
  • upgraded suspension
  • upgraded bodykit

and those sell by the bucket load at Audi prices, so unless they are turning the FR brand into the S-Line equivalent?
