Cheers im going to order the bits, think I'll order the 515 power struts thou as mines got a Btcc spoiler on it. YER theres a fella @ work that has vag-com so I'll hand over some money&get him to do it.

I have the 550n struts and Im starting to wish Id gone for the 515n as I think there slightly too powerful...

Here's a video

Do they look too powerful? Right as the boot fully opens its bounces, will this be bad?

Ah well hopefully they'll soften up after a while.

Apologies, I do have the lesser struts. See my post from other thread below :)

'Sorry for the delay...

I used: 550F struts and the scirocco bumpers.

Part number for the bumpers: 1k8 827 761d. I got them from Trade Parts Specialist (TPS), £4.50 each.

The struts i got were from SGS engineering. I've had a good experience with them. Here is the link: http://www.sgs-engineering.com/gas-.../octavia/gsc2152-skoda-octavia-tailgate-strut

So it cost me £9 for the bumpers, £21.95 for the struts. £30.95 in total. :)'

Yea I saw that post. I take it the opening is less violent with the 515 Struts??

Very nice looking FR ;)

Thanks :)

Small update, my Mtec headlight bulbs & my 3/4 front plate arrived today.

Fitted the Mtecs and must say they look sooo much better than the standard ones, however the sidelights look ridiculous with the Mtec's so have ordered some Mtec sidelight bulbs too.

I didn't manage to fit the plate as I had trouble getting the old sticky pads off, finally removed them only to find the plate being a lot thinner meant I hadn't taken enough of the sticky pads off so will do that tomorrow.

I also bit the bullet and bought some 515n struts as I'm just not happy with the 550n's so they are available for £12 + postage as one of the circlips has weakened meaning it doesn't grip the boot 100%.

Will pop pics up tomorrow once the plate has been fitted.

Should hopefully have my flocked fascia's back in a few days too :D

Another small update, managed to fit my Mtec headlight & sidelight bulbs, 3/4 number plate and swapped my octavia boot struts to the 515n's.

Mtec headlights fitted with standard sidelight bulbs.

I'm really liking this! Good job with the headlights look a lot better cleaned. I also love the 3/4 number plate I have been wanting one of these for ages, where did you get it from? and are they legal?
