Most Hideous / Embarassing Courtesy Cars

For the past 2 days I was lumbered with having to drive this monstrosity of a mobile billboard around while the dealer had my car in for repair. Needless to say it remained on my drive as much as possible which somewhat defeats the object of having a courtesy car.

Has anyone else been given anything as hideous / embarrassing as this by their dealer? If so, please post your pictures here.

I don't have any pictures, but I was once offered a bright yellow, base model, Fiat 500 with that same kind of advertising blurb all over it.

Naturally I declined their kind offer and never went back.

Hope you didn't have to pay for that car! They should have paid you for all the free advertising!

Yes, my sentiments exactly. I had to pay £10 for the car (insurance admin charge, apparently) [:@]

Previously I've just been given a base model Mii which is unexciting to say the least (except for the funky coloured dashboard) but at least those were unstickered.

After my car was delayed for 6 weeks I kicked off with the dealer and they gave me one of the sales lads cars as a courtesy car, they were in the process of changing all theirs over so didn't have many dedicated courtsey cars.
It was a 64 plate Ibiza FR 1.2TSi with the full black pack (paint, wheels, windows) and the salesman had added a monthly leasing cost advert on the back window to the effect of "Lease this car for £££ a month from XYZ Cars", only I think he'd been on the Gin at lunch as it was on a massively wonky angle.

My Cupra 280 SC was at the service centre for a couple of days this week getting an engine management light diagnosed (which has yet to be diagnosed!)...and the courtesy car I was given was a bright red Skoda CityGo. I have never driven anything with so little power and go...I felt pretty embarised driving the thing, esspecially being a 6.4ft bloke. From 280hp to just 60hp... Still, made me appreciate my car even more...

I think I'd still rather be in that CityGo than have that hidious mobile bill-board as a courtesy car...

My car is now at Ridgeway Skoda who clearly care about not embarrassing their customers unlike the Hartwell Kidlington because I'm now driving around in this with just some subtle wording on the bottom of the door which is how it should be. Take note Hartwell.

I got given a Chevrolet (at least it wasn't a Daewoo!) Matiz... I actually believe those cars are dangerous, the handling is atrocious and the manual advises you don't use it on the motorway!

Had a new pink Suzuki alto, what a horrid heap!
Also a red Wagon-R - everyone called me Postman Pat for the whole week.

I don't even drive a bloody Suzuki.

Having not reached the magical 15 posts yet (I'm working on it) I can't post the pictures, but at least your eyes will be spared, of the 'thing' my son was given for several weeks. It was a Renault Vel Satis! Wouldn't have been too bad if it had been the Aventime, but a Vel Satis OMG.

Years ago when I had my Leon Cupra, there was a massive shortage of coil packs and there were lots of faulty coil packs about so my car was off the road for weeks (along with lots and lots of other people).

The first courtesy car I had was a Fiat Stilo 1.6 Petrol which had no guts to it at all, also it cornered like it was jelly, lucikly after a week or so it developed an air bag fault so I had to change it to an Astra 1.6 Petrol which was a million times bettter! :)

I'd heard that it also advises against trying to drive it uphill or around corners greater than 10 degrees... :D

Chevy Spark as a work loaner. As horrendous as it was the absolute basic-ness of the thing put a smile on my face...for about 2 miles.

Also had a poverty spec Mercedes B-Class which was covered in bird crap and a dirty nappy in the back footwell. Mercedes service for you!

When I had my MK2 LCR Stage2+ SEAT were paying for the wheels to be refurbed so they arranged me a hire car. Because at the time I was under 25 they would only let me have a 1.0, dropped off a VW Fox 1.0.

Had it screaming a 94mph haha.. private road of course.

Before I got my new Leon I had the misfortune of driving a 1.0l Toyota iGo for a month after writing off my previous car. I can't complain too much, It was the insurance company that picked up the bill ,nearly £500 for 28 days! :-o I had to fill it up before i dropped it off, cost me £40. Cheapest tank full i've bought! :roflmao:
