Oil problems, the never ending story

Right you'll have to forgive me for bringing up oil issues but I've just been hit with the dreaded dry dipstick

I'm going to have the necessary work done under warranty to prevent the problem happening again but what I would like to know is if there is anything I can buy to make the problem stay gone? I.e aftermarket parts that will be superior compared to what seat will use for the warranty 'upgrade'? If investing a bit of cash means peace of mind then I'm more than willing to part with it!!

I doubt it, need to go through the weighing process then get rings done or in my case whole new engine.

I'm at just over 4000 miles, really don't want this to happen again as I love the car. When you said they weight it do you mean they fill it to the brim then weigh it as it uses oil to see if it's an unacceptable amount?

I think they fill it with oil. Drive it for 60 miles then empty the oil and weigh how much it has used.

100% true. Although i had it done twice. First time they drove the 63 miles while they had the car and came back saying it hadn't used any
I then took it away and drove 500 odd miles over next couple of weeks and dipstick was dry lol. Took it back they did the test again but this time I did the 63 miles and took it back. This time they said the weight was different by 78gms and they said that was excessive and booked it in for the rings to be changed.. Ended up with new engine as the bores were scored also..

One thing i have noticed is that on startup the new engine is much smoother and less like a bag of spanners and no shuddering

After 2 months I think my car is fixed and misfires were caused by faulty pump fuel

It has had a new engine as well.

I'm not going to accept the car without some kind of compensantion for all this mess.

Let's see how it goes.

TSR forged piston/rod conversion. It works.

Is it like a guaranteed fix? Obviously a warranty voider so I'd rather be sure it worked are they remap proof as well?

I did 8 runs straight at GTi Inters, couldn't break them. Talk to TSR, I believe there are 2 sets of Wossner pistons in existence, I have 1 set and they did have the other set in stock a few months ago. Good enough for Porsche race cars.
