I'm not sure but for some reason with the grill/Seat badge it's difficult to lift the bonnet. Pull the leaver in the car and the bonnet pop up but that little leaver you pull doesn't seem to push out anymore than as if it was closed.. I know almost everyone will know Amswer to this question but I have to take the Sbadge out to get at the leaver and pull it to release the bonnet, I've got so many pics to post for you all to look at and show you all..when I do, do you think I should make a post just about my car? Then you can all have a look.. Think I'm on about 9 posts so far. So hopefully with a reply and then me replying to this should just about do it.

A pair of pliers will allow you to pull the release lever and get the bonnet open. Once you’ve done this it is well worth removing the lock assembly and giving it a good clean and re-grease (plenty of write-ups on how how to remove.

I'm not sure if its needs replacing all together as it seems its like there's nothing to pull on.. The leaver is flush with the grill so I can't actually pull it. Hopefully will get a pic up in the next post

If the lever handle is flush with the grill a pair of needle nose pliers will hold it. My bet would be that it is all gummed up with loads of old grease and muck.

Because of its location, the bonnet lock mechanism accumulates road dirt and will eventually jam, unless regularly lubricated and cleaned up. Once you get the bonnet open, degrease and clean the lock mechanism and then lubricate it with some "teflon" spray oil or something similar. If you use WD 40 to help free up the lock, make sure it is all washed off and replaced with proper lubricant. WD 40 dries out and becomes gummy, and if left will cause the same problem all over again.
A regular spray with oil, every year, say, or every service, will usually be enough to stop this from happening.
