I'm cleaning up the tip of an exhaust before it's fitted so far I have cleaned with soap and wire wool but there is some sort of stain that I cannot remove no matter how much I scrub.

Not sure what even caused a stain like this but there is a similar one on the bottom.

Anyone got any tips

Cillet bang! Bang and the dirt is gone :) i bought a car with ss exhaust and it looked all rusty and stained and I cleaned it up with that and it worked a treat :)

I normally use the Britemax twins and fine grade steel wool - the green easy cut on the steel wool then the white final shine on an old microfibre, buff after to a high shine. :) I have used dremels and Mothers Powerballs on exhaust tips as well!

I rub in the autosol and wire wool it to get the majority of the stains etc off then reapply and polish up with a micro fibre cloth. Came up great when I got my Ibiza last month and that's how I done it when I owned a motorbike.
