Hi

I am new to this forum but have read a few things on the Third brake light dilemma but not really got the information I need.

I have a 2012 mk2 Seat leon 1.2 TSI Copa (Petrol)

When it is wet or damp my Third brake light warning light comes on. It comes and goes quite a bit. When it is hot and dry I rarely see it although it does pop up sometimes.
I mainly see it when I stop at traffic lights and my start stop turns my engine off and then I pull away it comes on but it is quite random when it appears.
The light cluster does appear to work even when the warning light is on (I reversed up to a window so could see the reflection).
I know I can take it to a dealer and they will look at it or replace it but I want to have a go first as might be expensive if a dealer does it.
It may be a loose connection which I might be able to fix or solder.
I popped out the 2 plugs on the inside of the boot door but cannot work out how to get the thing to come out. My finger only just fits in and if I push a screwdriver in I'm not sure where to push it. I think I read somewhere that you can push something to the side but it seems impossible.
Anyone have more detailed instructions or a diagram/photos please?
Thanks

Just to report back....I managed to get a flat head screwdriver and put in the 2 holes and unclip the silver brackets. It was very fiddly! I was then able to push it out enough to lever it out from the outside. Be warned as you need force and it did result in the circuit board snapping. I ordered a replacement brake light cluster and collected it. I popped it in which was very easy and it worked! The warning light has totally gone. The part was £32.38 including VAT and the part number is 6J0945097B.
I enquired how much it would be for them to replace it theirselves and they said an additional £30. So if you are unable to do it yourself its worth bearing in mind. This was from an approved Seat dealer too.

I have exactly this issue, high level brake light warning indicator comes on in dash but all brake lights appear to work. I assumed it was only a sensor problem which I can live with as removing the unit looks far too difficult.
