If anyone has any ideas please let me know, my last Orange San Francisco worked great. Thanks

I don’t have any experiences of the Sony phones but the first phone I used with the Seat was also an Orange SF that downloaded the book automatically same for my current Huawei G300 however I was playing around the other day with the Media 2.2 system while waiting for the OH to finish her shopping :cry:and notice that you can force download the book.

I was pressing buttons right, left and centre so can’t remember exactly where I found it but I think it was press Phone then Set Up and in the list that appears you have an option to download the phone book.

If you have not already tried, it’s worth a go.

I'm having some problems with my bluetooth and would appreciate advice on how to fix it.

I've got a 2010 Leon FR TDI with the factory fit bluetooth and voice control. My phone is an Apple Iphone 4s.

Problem

The phone pairs with the car no problem and I can access my phone book. Often I can call out from the vehicle with no problems. However, 50%+ of the time I can't receive incoming calls. The phone doesn't ring but it does record a missed call. It obviously thinks the car is handling the situation; however, the car doesn't ring and there is no indication on the dash that a call is being received. Once the system has failed in this manner I also lose the ability to phone out. If I try, it simply says, "Dial Out Failed".

Please help, I badly need the bluetooth to function and be reliable for work.

I have a 2010 Ecomotive with Media System 2.1 bluetooth, the same phone (iPhone 4S) and suffer the same problems as you describe. :(

I have my phone in a holder (I use a Brodit Pro-clip), so I can see the screen while driving. When it "doesn't ring", the phone itself is actually ringing (obviously), but because the audio is routed via the car - which doesn't detect the incoming call - you can't tell audibly that the phone is ringing and you can't answer the call (unless you physically pick up the handset, which is obviously not advisable!).

I've yet to find a foolproof solution that I'm happy with, but I have discovered a workaround of sorts:

After getting starting the car and waiting for your phone to pair as usual, go into the phone settings and disable Bluetooth (Settings > General > Bluetooth > Off). The car will display that the phone has disconnected. Then enable it again, wait for the "SEAT..." device to show up again on the phone and click the device (not the '>' symbol!) to re-connect to the car. The car will acknowledge the phone connected and start loading the contact lists etc as usual.
I find that by initiating the connection from the phone in this way, I am able to properly receive calls more of the time - I have no idea why.

Unfortunately, these niggles are virtually impossible to get resolved. In all cases, the makers of each device will claim the fault lies with the other device.
If you ask SEAT, they'll tell you it's your phone and if you ask Apple, they'll tell you it's the car... it's the standard response to all these problems I'm afraid - it's infuriating, but they all do it.
Trying to get your problem escalated to someone sufficiently technical to actually know what might be wrong (apart from pointing you to the existing useless documentation) is virtually impossible! [:@]

I feared this response.

At least you seem to have found a workaround. Thanks for taking the time to describe the procedure in detail. Once you've paired the phone in the manner you describe do you find it to be totally reliable or just an improvement?

I think it's totally reliable but I can't be bothered with the faff of the procedure all the time either tbh. Certainly for short journeys, I just take my chances unless I know that I'm expecting an important call.

I've not done any proper testing and recorded my results, so can't be sure that it 100% fixes the issue. There are loads of variables at work - e.g. does receiving a call always work if you follow the above but then subsequently make a call? And does it make any difference if you initiate that call from the car or the phone? Does it make any difference if you end the call using the car or using the phone (or the phone ends the call when the caller hangs up)? All these things could presumably have an effect on the results - certainly if it makes a difference initiating the connection from the phone rather than the car, then something very subtle must be at work here.
I understand that Bluetooth communication is quite a complicated 'conversation' between the devices and if one of them speaks a slightly different 'dialect' to the other, then your results may be strange... just what we're experiencing unfortunately.

In a way, I'd prefer it if my phone was just plain incompatible, as the "it works mostly" situation drives me crazy! :(

I haven't been bothered to write down all the various combinations of incoming and outgoing calls (and how they are started and ended) to test it properly though, I'm afraid.

But IMHO, following the procedure I described certainly means that I receive calls properly much more often than I was doing - I just can't be sure if it 100% fixes it, sorry!

This. It would be so much easier if it just didn't work. It teases me by working really well some of the time!

2010 FR with 2.0 Media System ... Works perfectly when paired as headset with iPhone and new shine(ier) HTC One But I can't get either to stream audio. I've enabled Bluetooth on the system under settings but neither phone will stream audio. From reading other posts audio streaming may be disabled and would need to be enabled by dealers.. But some refusing to do so. If this is the case what are my options ? HTC do a Bluetooth streamer for around £40 but I'd rather not fork out if it can be avoided. I presume aux/USB cable only works with iPod/iPhones ?

I might be wrong, but from memory, I think Bluetooth media streaming is only available on Media System 2.1 and above?

I have Media System 2.1 and I only rarely use Bluetooth streaming - it's a nice gimmick but it uses too much battery juice on my phone and I usually can't be bothered with the faff of getting the car charger out for it (turns out I'm even lazier than previously thought!).

I have 32GB of music mp3s on an SDHC card and 16GB of audiobooks/comedy mp3s on a low-profile USB flash key - both permanently plugged in to their respective slots. I separate the content like that so I can shuffle either and not have comedy tracks turning up in my music and vice versa. I still have plenty of variety that way and don't have to set anything up - I just start the car and things resume from where I left off.

The only time I resort to Bluetooth streaming is perhaps on a long journey if the missus is watching Celeb Juice or something funny on my iPhone/iPad and I want to listen along to the audio. ;)

If you have the iPod adapter, I think it only works with iPods (and perhaps iPhones), but the standard USB socket supports common formats of USB flash memory devices, at least the version in my car does.

I just got a Samsung galaxy s4 & paired it up with the car. I can receive calls ok & see phonebook, last calls, missed calls etc but it will not dial out. If I make the call from my phone it will go through the car though. Any ideas?
