Its not yet been decided whether they will provide the kit. Richard said if they do they will provide different kits for the 100 and 130s due to the different connections on the pipe/hoses. In all honesty, I would leave the pricing decisions to Richard, so if intersted give him a bell - all I can say is I'm very happy with the overall cost of my FMIC conversion;)

Yes I will. That’s exactly what I was looking for. Truly awesome work:clap: :worship: .

Just the piece that houses the headlight washers IIRC and a piece to allow the bottom pipe to pass through from the IC towards the fog light

Cant say I've noticed a difference, but then again I didnt rag it on the way back - all those cameras on the motorway. At least its now ready for the turbo and injectors now:D

I datalogged the car this morning and I noticed a difference ; )

Still not sure whether this will be a retail kit or not. Probably the best way to judge demand will be to start a thread in our section, I will do that in a moment so please add to the list if you are interested.
Please bear in mind that bumper cutting is still involved in the overall fitting of this fmic and pipework kit so some specialist tools are required in order to make it a neat job.
Thanks to Shaun for supplying the car and the FMIC for this experiment fit. Cheers mate.

Whell, the tube did fit but there are 2 extentions (don't know the right word for it) on the metal ring at the end of the tube where you lock the clip behind. Those extentions were at the wrong place at the cupra tube.

Ok Evo, fitted mine today, was a doddle, and a real pleasure to fit cos it just fitted so well ( reson i chose it again!!!)

I think you must have ordered the wrong part number as mine fitted no problem as you can see in this pic ( it was not tightened up in pic). All on and pulls very nicey on top end, up strip tomorrow to se what it gets

I'm glad for you it all worked out fine[B)] ;)

But i'm 100% sure i've ordered the right part 6LL 145 838.
Maybe the part wasn't made properly then

As you can see on my pic here, the left one is the FR one and the right the cupra one.The cupra one is the one you fit with the clamp on the metal pipe.

I've shown it to my dealer today and the problem why it didn't fit exactly with my car is because I have a different egr.On my FR it's a Pierburg...probably because I have one of the latest model before the facelift.

Check the difference between ours :

I have removed also all the egr pipes that I don't need anymore

I'm glad this is sorted out now[B)]
I'm wondering if the cupra D facelift has a new tube like for my egr or that it's still like yours:think:

The point of removing the egr pipes is because they don't fit to my hybrid anymore:D .The exhaust manifold opening to the egr is now blocked.

oh your going all technical now. I was thiking big turbo, but i got a real big hankering for a White Mk5 Golf Tdi 4-motion DSG with GTi kit on it. or just a mk golf GTi, so don't want to go silly on this one just in case.

Hi Guys,

Long time reader, first time poster.
Has anyone looked into fitting a water injection system instead of the FMIC?
I'm looking at buying a 1.9 TDi Sport and instead of the FMIC I'm looking into fitting it, cost of about £350. I've read reports that the standard intercooler is already 78% effeicant.

trust me mate, the smic just can't cope with the tempertures when its high especially when remapped. Had my forge FMIC on a couple of weeks and except for one of the pipes popping off (big bang, lots of smoke - my fault) its been a faultless modification so far. Before, the ecu used for pull back going hard through 1st, 2nd and 3rd and now she just pulls all the way to the redline without dropping off the power. In my honest opinion if you're going to remap, then first change your SMIC especially for the hot weather.

^^^ i agree,

My smic used to love the 90 degrees+ intake temps................NOT!

My FMIC hasn't seen temps over 40 degrees

ive not seen temps over 43 and they got to that temp after 6 full loads runs one after the other basically smic is an ok size if it had good airflow but if you look through the grill the fog light covers most of it as you get about 1/2 of the smic getting flow!
